Come visit the beautiful new additions to Carroll Creek’s kinetic sculpture collection.

At tonight’s City Council meeting, on the agenda was a contract to provide the engineering analyses, documentation, and submittals
necessary for the certification of three levee segments in the Carroll Creek area. The updated flood hazard maps will impact 22 properties and city infrastructure, including homes, businesses, accessory structures, and roads along the East Church St. and Highland Ave. potentially even saving our community money on flood insurance.

During public comment, East Frederick Rising asked the Council to consider exploring the feasibility of constructing a Shared-Use path along the berm, at the suggestion of a community member who saw the potential to provide a connection that would help bicyclists avoid a dangerous stretch of E. Church Street and provide a better connection to downtown. It doesn’t hurt to ask!
