A UCC congregation in Maryland that decided it wanted to give back to others during this time of a pandemic is making an impact in its community every week, feeding health care workers on the front lines.

ROUND 2!

Frederick Gives Back wishes to thank its generous donors. Earlier today our team was able to work with 7th Street Cafe (7th Street Sandwich Shop) to provide another round of lunches to the 85 working at the Ballenger Creek Center (My Genesis HealthCare).

This would not have been possible without the help of some amazing donors and awesome team members who have donated their time and efforts to help get this project online.

Because of you all, not only are we able to continue delivering to Ballenger Creek Center, but we are in the process of onboarding an additional healthcare facility: the nursing staff at the Healthcare Center for Homewood at Crumland Farms.

SUCCESS!

Frederick Gives Back is proud to announce its first delivery of meals to the hard working staff at Ballenger Creek Center (My Genesis HealthCare). Thanks to community donations, Frederick Gives Back was able to provide lunch from 7th Street Cafe (7th Street Sandwich Shop) for 85 local healthcare heroes.

The Frederick Gives Back team would like to thank the donors and hardworking volunteers who helped make this possible.

Frederick Gives back is a community outreach project of Grace United Church of Christ which gives back to the Frederick restaurant and healthcare communities by fundraising community donations which are used to engage local restaurants to prepare and deliver nutritious meals to local healthcare facilities.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE: Announcing "Frederick Gives Back: A Community Outreach Project of Grace United Church of Christ"

Frederick Gives Back is a community outreach project of Grace United Church of Christ in partnership with local volunteers, local restaurants, and local healthcare facilities. Inspired by the Frontline Foods movement, Frederick Gives Back takes a local, uniquely Frederick approach to a national sentiment: giving back to the healthcare workers who are sacrificing so much to help their communities.

The project is four-fold: (1) Volunteers work to raise funds, which are then (2) used to engage locally-owned restaurants. With the donated funds, the restaurants will (3) prepare and deliver nutritious meals to local healthcare facilities, (4) thereby providing a show of support to our healthcare workers.

At this time, Frederick Gives Back is starting the process to work with Frederick Health Hospital and 7th Street Sandwich Shop to bring our first partnership online. From there, we hope to be able to expand to include multiple restaurant and healthcare partners. We are currently accepting donations to be used for the project.

All donations will be made through Grace United Church of Christ, as the organization leading Frederick Gives Back. Grace Church will then be using these donations to pay our restaurant partners.
