Faith Community Partnership of Frederick County

Faith Community Partnership of Frederick County Our Vision is to empower individuals and families through connections to the faith community. We invite you to join us!

The mission of the Faith Community Partnership is to facilitate a partnership of faith communities and local service agencies to serve individuals and families of Frederick County. We focus on these areas:
- Build partnerships within the faith community and local service agencies
- Equip the partnership through education, collaboration, and sharing of resources
- Provide opportunities for the fait

h community to serve
- Connect those in need with resources

In 2014, the Faith Community Partnership began its infancy as the Frederick County Department of Social Services (FCDSS) embarked on a new approach to serve families and children in an attempt to bridge the resources of church and state, realizing how both entities were serving the same populations. The first FCP meeting was a group of 8 people who came together with an initial goal to cultivate resources for the Foster Care Unit, supporting transitioning youth in Foster Care and recruiting new resource homes within the faith-based community. Quarterly Breakfast Meetings with faith community members has expanded and allowed different congregations to network and share resources. Agency partnerships have expanded to help those in crisis and those struggling with abuse, neglect, poverty, homelessness, disability, or other hardships.

Pass this along to a youth who could benefit from this program with City Youth Matrix, Frederick Maryland! Starts this week.

City Youth Matrix serves at-risk youth by connecting them with meaningful enrichment opportunities beyond the school day. We still have open spots available for an upcoming Construction Club with the Frederick County Building Industry Association beginning this Tuesday, January 13.

This opportunity is open to middle and high school–aged youth. A parent or guardian must attend alongside the student for this three-session program. To support families, dinner is provided before each class.

Do you know a child who could truly benefit from this experience?

Construction Club offers hands-on learning that helps youth:
- Explore future career paths in trades and design
- Build confidence through real-world projects
- Learn alongside a supportive adult

You can register your child using the link below.

Families are also encouraged to reach out directly to CYM Director of Family Empowerment, Sarah Presnell, who can share more details about the program.
