Something new is starting at the library… 🎬

We’re kicking off a FURL Film Group on Wednesday, May 6! This is a casual group for people who enjoy movies and want to talk about them with others.

For our first meeting, we’ll be discussing "All Quiet on the Western Front" (1979), based on the novel by Erich Maria Remarque.

You can watch it ahead of time if you’d like, but it’s also okay to come just to listen and join the conversation. It is available on Kanopy which you can access with your Frederick County Public Libraries library card number!

It is a brand new group, so it’s a great time to jump in from the beginning...no pressure, no expectations. Grab a friend and/or make some new ones!

Our library isn’t just a building.

✨ THANK YOU, URBANA AREA! ✨
Our 2026 Spring Used Book Sale was a huge success last weekend, and it’s all thanks to this incredible community. 💛

Because of your support, we had record sales of around $5000! Every dollar goes right back into supporting our library to fund programs, resources, and opportunities for our community. 📚

To our volunteers, both long-time and new: you all made this happen. From sorting and organizing to set-up, sales, and clean-up…it truly takes a village. We are so grateful for each and every one of you. 🧩

To our shoppers, supporters, and new members: THANK YOU for showing up, spreading the word, and loving books as much as we do. 🤓
