We need you this Saturday 💙

The Mobile Food Pantry is heading to Fairview Middle School on October 17th and we are looking for volunteers to help make it happen. Specifically we need hands to help sort food starting at 7:00 AM, before the pantry opens to neighbors.

If you have a few hours to give this Saturday morning, this is one of the most meaningful ways you can show up for your neighbors in Williamson County.

The numbers are staggering.
But behind every number is a neighbor in need 💙

Williamson County is one of the wealthiest counties in the country, and yet 22,000 of our neighbors go to bed food insecure. Most of them are hidden in plain sight. Most of them are working. And most of them have nowhere to turn because they don’t qualify for state assistance.

GraceWorks exists because this community decided that was not okay.

Meet Richard and Melinda. ❤️

Melinda began volunteering at GraceWorks in 2018. A year later, Richard joined her. Since then, this husband-and-wife duo has been showing up faithfully every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Melinda brings her warmth and care to shoes, linens, clothing, and often assists in our Volunteer Center, while Richard works in electronics, making sure every item is ready for its next home.

But what makes Richard and Melinda so special is the way they serve...with joy, kindness, and a genuine love for the Lord that is evident in the way they care for others.

They don’t just volunteer together. They carry the love of Christ into the work they do and into the lives they touch.

Richard and Melinda, thank you for being such a faithful part of the GraceWorks family. We are so grateful for the way you serve our neighbors, and for the beautiful example you give us of serving together. ❤️

This moment stopped us in our tracks 😍

Yesterday, a little girl walked into our newly expanded thrift store and found something she wasn’t expecting.

A cozy little reading nook, stocked with books, just waiting for her 📚

So she did what any book lover would do.

She took her shoes off, sat right down and got lost in a story.

This is what our thrift store looks like beyond the racks and finds. It’s a place where families feel welcome. Where children feel at home.
Where even the smallest details, like a bookshelf full of stories at the right height, remind every single person who walks through our doors that they belong here 💙

We want to tell you what’s really inside a GraceWorks grocery cart 👀

Because it’s so much more than food 🫶🏼

Inside every cart that leaves our pantry is a family that came to us carrying the weight of a really hard season. A neighbor who needed someone to show up for them. A moment of grace that they will carry long after the groceries are gone.

Last year alone we distributed 11,119 grocery carts, each filled with $450 worth of nutritious food, funded by a community that refuses to let its neighbors go without.

That’s what your support does.
That’s what your donation makes possible.
That’s what every volunteer hour, every thrift purchase and every shared post adds up to.

One cart.
One family.

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of GraceWorks.
They do not have to be here, and yet… they are. They want to be.

That distinction makes all the difference to every single person who walks through our doors.

This is Amanda’s story.
And it’s one we’ll never forget 💙

She was working.
She was trying.
She was doing everything a mother is supposed to do, and it still wasn’t enough.

For two months, she and her seven children made a home out of their vehicle. Her oldest was 17, her youngest was three.

She came to GraceWorks for food, requesting only packaged groceries because she had nowhere to cook.

What she didn’t know was that someone noticed, and that noticing changed everything.

Within days, Amanda had a hotel room with a kitchen, a dedicated case worker and a community rallying around her family. GraceWorks partnered with local organizations to make sure that when Amanda’s family moved forward, they moved forward with everything they needed - furniture, food, clothing and a place to call home.

Two weeks later, she called us.

“I’m picking up the keys to my new apartment.”

And then, “you have no idea what we’ve been through in the past few months. People have been so unkind to us. I can tell that you want to help, that there are still good people out there.”

There are.
And this community proves it every single day 💙

We keep talking about it. But can you blame us? 🦃

The Turkey Trot is one of our favorite days of the entire year and Thanksgiving morning will be here before you know it. If you have been meaning to register, today is the day! Trust us, you do NOT want to miss this one.

Over 4,700 neighbors showed up last year.

Meet Larry Darnell.

For years, Larry has shown up at GraceWorks with a simple commitment: serve where he’s needed and take good care of people along the way.

He started with food pickups, then became the steady hand behind our Toys for Tots season, making sure every toy reached a child who needed a little extra joy at Christmas.

Today, you’ll find Larry in our electronics department every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday...testing, fixing, and making sure every item that leaves his hands is something a neighbor can count on.

And that’s Larry. Kind, gracious and faithful.

When he’s not at GraceWorks, he’s tending his garden, winning ribbons at the Williamson County Fair, or serving breakfast with Franklin Rotary.

Larry, thank you for showing up, serving faithfully, and caring so deeply for our neighbors. We’re grateful for you. ❤️

This past Saturday, 147 neighbors left with full carts 💙

That number represents 147 families and individuals who showed up, some before the sun was fully up, because they needed help and knew someone would be there to meet them.

The Mobile Food Pantry exists for exactly this.
For the neighbor who cannot make the 18 mile trip to Franklin. For the family navigating a season that has stretched every resource thin. For the person who just needed to know that someone in this community still sees them.

147 times over, we hope they felt that 💙

Thank you to every volunteer, donor and partner who makes this possible month after month. You are the reason we can keep showing up.
