To our players, coaches, umpires, concession volunteers, parents, relatives, and every fan who showed up this fall — THANK YOU. Your energy and commitment make Wallen what it is.

Parents, please take a moment to personally thank your coaches. Their time, energy, and knowledge are the reason we can run such a successful fall season for so many kids.

Wallen reached record numbers again this spring and exceeded expectations for the Fall Season. We’re proud to be a place where kids from all backgrounds and leagues come together to play — no residency restrictions, no affiliations, no travel required. All games are played right here at Wallen.

We do have the following days that we would like to start on Field Clean up and closing up the complex

October 10th, 2026 9:00 am to 2 pm
October 11th, 2026 2:00 to 6 pm
Week of 12th through the 16th if have time during week ---We will be able to give you direction of stuff to be completed

October 17th 9:00 am to 2 pm FINALIZE ALL SHUT OF WALLEN FIELDS.

We need help taking down signs, leaf clean up, clean up buildings organize equipment, wind screen removal, back stops stored away, field maintenance, tree trimming, nets put away etc..

Wallen proudly serves players ages 4 to 22, all at one facility from March through October. With a rich history of volunteers and sponsors, we continue to grow as a top destination for recreational baseball and softball in the Fort Wayne area.

This year, we completed Phase 1 — BATTING CAGES EXPANSION 5 to 9 CAGES PHASE 2 TO BE FINALIZING to 11 CAGES and the turfing of DIAMOND 3.

WE DID LOSE A GREAT PERSON THAT WAS A FIXTURE AT WALLEN FOR THE LAST 40 YEARS GREGG FOLLIS---WE WILL MISS YOU AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.

Well it still tough to except I will miss the daily conversation With THE LEGEND in my eyes---THE BRIDGE that he carried from part of the great history of Wallen and enstowed in me to continue it.

With heavy but grateful hearts for the life he lived, we invite family, friends, and the Wallen community to join us in celebrating Gregg Follis.

Gregg passed on Thursday, August 6th. His loss leaves an emptiness in the hearts of all who knew him, but we choose to honor him the way he lived — through memories, laughter, tradition, and the pride he carried for Wallen and its youth.

For decades, Gregg stood as a true legend of Wallen. He loved the game, protected its history, and championed the importance of the kids who make this place special. His passion, his daily conversations about Wallen’s greatness, and his unwavering commitment to tradition shaped the community we are all part of today.

We invite you to come together for a time of remembrance — not only for Gregg, but for the countless great moments, friendships, and joy that Wallen has brought to so many.

Gregory F. "Gregg" Follis

1952-2026



Gregg Follis, 74, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, in Angola, Indiana. Gregg leaves a legacy of family, community and great stories.



Born March 17, 1952, to the late Frank and Hazel (Gowen) Follis, Gregg graduated from Bishop Luers High School. He and Sue Follis spent 43 years owning the Sit 'n Bull in LaOtto, Indiana, where he was the "straw that stirred the drink." Gregg had a gift for bringing people together and loved sharing good food, laughter and friendship with everyone around him. He also spent 25+ years as the groundskeeper at Wallen Baseball Complex. His passion for youth sports was unmatched, and he poured his love, knowledge and enthusiasm for the game into every player he encountered.



Above all, Gregg was most proud of his family. He was the devoted father of Amy, Andy and A.J. (Ashlee) and loving Papa to six grandchildren, Alexis, Brooklynn, Carter, Lincoln, Harper and Graeson, and one great-grandson, Beckett. He loved his family fiercely and took great joy in supporting them in all they did. Whether at the lake, Wallen, countless softball fields or the ballparks while visiting family in Arizona, Gregg was a Papa not only to his own grandchildren but to every child fortunate enough to know him. Papa Gregg will be deeply missed by all. Gregg also is survived by Sue Follis; brother, Phil (Lynn) Follis; sister, Judi (Bob) Loubier; and partner, Jane Gear.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Gregg's memory to support the youth sports he loved so much. Contributions can be made to A.J. Follis (Venmo -Follis, http://www.zeffy.com/en-us/donation-form/in-loving-memory-of-gregg-follis, or onsite at the celebration of life) and will be used to support Churubusco Softball, AZ Outlaws Baseball and Wallen Baseball Complex.
