Four police officers have been federally charged in connection to the raid that,ultimately, resulted in the murder of Breonna Taylor. Charges faced are in regards to civil rights violations , unlawful conspiracies, unconstitutional use of force and obstruction. The news does not change the consequences of final decisions, however, it will provide another piece of the puzzle to closure for her friends and family who are suffering with this tragic loss. This information was given synonymous to reports of Britney Griner being sentenced to 9 years in prison in relation to an incident at the airport involving less than 1 gram of ma*****na .Some analysts describe the tactic from Russia as fuel to drive an “eye for an eye” prisoner swap between the United States and Russia while tensions of the war in Ukraine are ever present. Today we are yet again reminded that justice is being outran by a corrupted system. A system that does not play by fair rules, nor does it allow fair punishment. The question still remains on whether real justice will be served.

Event Details:

The chip timed race will take place at PFW on Saturday, April 30 with a 10:00 a.m. start time. Early-bird registration is $25/adult, $15/student, and $7/children ages 12 and under (strollers go free). Registration for adults and students includes an adult-size T-shirt! April 14th is the last day to register and guarantee a T-shirt. Packet pickup for all runners will start at 9:00 a.m. the day of the event.

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH! While we know there are some reservations about this month, F.I.R.M would like to send a reminder that Black History Month is a time of enlightenment. It’s a time to take back the entitlement of this country suggesting U.S. History is made up of only ‘white history.’

It is a time where we rightfully honor Martin Luther King Jr, as well as all of the other Black activists that we weren’t taught about sooner. It is a reminder of how far we come, but also how far we have to go. It is not a time to get complacent. We are far from the finish line. But for today, we say Happy BHM ✊🏾🖤

🚨UPDATE ALERT🚨

Murderers of Ahmaud Arbery, Travis and Gregory McMichael, and William Bryan have been sentenced to life without parole, and life plus 20 years. On February 23, 2020 Arbery was killed in a senseless act of what can be classified as a hate crime. The three suspects were arrested and awaited trial, which began November 5th, 2021. On November 23rd the jury deliberated and Travis, Gregory and William were found guilty of killing Ahmaud Arbery. Yesterday, January 7, 2022, Travis and Gregory McMichael were sentenced to life plus 20 years while William Bryan was sentenced to life without parole.

As we wrap up another eventful year, we would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who sent donations for our 2nd Annual Christmas Giveaway! 100% of the proceeds went to the families, and thanks to your help we were able to sponsor 4 families this year! Two of those families were clients from Healthier Moms & Babies who were unable to receive assistance, and we would like to extend a THANK YOU to that organization as well for all that they do for families in need.

We could not be more blessed and thankful for all the love and support that kept us going strong.
