As a young girl, Isabel struggled to hear in school. A friend helped her access a hearing aid, giving her the opportunity to reconnect with the world around her.

But when that hearing aid stopped working, Isabel had nowhere to turn. Without access to hearing healthcare, she lost the gift of hearing once again and was thrown back into a world of silence.

Years later, Isabel's sister heard about Hearing the Call. Determined to find help, the two traveled more than 1,300 miles over four days by bus to reach our clinic in Maputo.

There, Isabel received new hearing devices and, just as importantly, access to ongoing hearing care and support. She left knowing she would never have to face hearing loss alone again.
