The Mustard Seed Furniture Bank of Fort Wayne Inc. is a donation based nonprofit agency that accepts basic household furniture, linens and kitchenware.

Items are then provided to families/individuals referred to our agency after a catastrophic situation. The Mustard Seed Furniture Bank of Fort Wayne accepts basic household furniture, linens and kitchenware that is clean, in working order and free of any rips, tears, stains, animal hair and cigarette burns. The agency picks up complimentary in Allen and Dekalb counties within the state. Donations

can also be dropped off at our facility during our regular business hours. Please do not leave donations outside for Mother Nature to destroy. Clients, who are referred in following a home/virtual visit by a social-service agency, faith-based group, church or school obtain the donated items that have been provided to our agency through the generosity of the community. We do, too.

But what we see is so much more.

Ending furniture poverty isn't simply about providing furniture.

This week, our Executive Director, Colleen, undertook a big move from her home of nine years into a new place. It was a reminder of all the ways we build home over time.

The small things become important. A favorite chair. A coffee mug. The arrangement of books on a shelf. The photos on a wall. Over time, a collection of belongings becomes something more—a source of comfort, identity, and belonging.

We don't just live in spaces. We create lives within them.

That is why, when we move, we unpack boxes with such determination. We long to feel settled in our sanctuary. We want our homes to reflect who we are and hold the people we love.
