Summit Equestrian Center

Summit Equestrian Center Vision: A community where the bond between horses & individuals changes lives. Interested in volunteering?

Mission: We are the connection between the healing power of the horse & individuals who have physical or cognitive needs. We have many friends to take care of on the farm, and as the saying goes, "many hands make light work". We would love to meet you and learn about your unique gifts that would add to our team here at Summit. Whether you just want to be a side walker during lessons, groundskeeper, feeder or organizer, we have a place for you.

Huge thank you to Larry, one of our oldest volunteers, for braving the rain today to help Jenn clean paddocks. That’s the kind of heart this place runs on.

Interested in volunteering? If Larry can do it, so can you.

There are so many ways to help: paperwork, fundraising, helping in the barn, helping during sessions… something for everyone. No horse experience needed. Even if you can only give a little amount of time a month every little bit helps.

Email [email protected] or call 260-619-2700. Paperwork is on the website: summitequestriancenter.org

Save this coloring page. Print it, color it on a tablet, or let the kids go at it with crayons — whatever works.

When you’re done, we want to see it.
Drop a photo in the comments on this post, or upload it to your profile and tag us so we can find it.

Veterans, families, volunteers, neighbors — anyone who wants a few quiet minutes with a horse and some color is welcome.

People. Horses. Hope.

We can’t wait to see what you do with it.

Ever wonder what the horses would say about us if we could see ourselves through their eyes? 🐴❤️

Would they see the things we’re so hard on ourselves about? The mistakes, the bad days, the moments we wish we could take back?

Or would they simply see the person who showed up… who brought them food, scratched their favorite spot, listened when they were quiet, and kept trying even when life felt heavy?

Horses don’t see us the way we see ourselves. They don’t care about our flaws, our titles, our past, or whether we had a perfect day.

They see us.

Maybe there’s something pretty powerful in wondering what we might look like through their eyes. ❤️🐴

It’s a hard-knock life for Brynn.

One minute he’s living his best pasture life… the next minute there’s a cleaning fork sitting next to the cart and someone looking at him like, “Your turn.”

He sniffed it, touched it, and immediately filed a complaint. Cleaning? To pay his own bills? He thinks that’s some serious hooey.

If any generous souls out there would like to donate so Brynn doesn’t have to work quite so hard, he’d greatly appreciate it. A little extra hay and a lighter chore list would make this guy very happy.

Howdy takes his naps pretty seriously around here.

When this guy decides it’s rest time, the whole barn knows it. Peaceful, grounded, and fully committed to the nap. 💤

Sometimes the best thing you can do is just settle in and let the world wait.

Tried to catch a sweet early-morning moment with that soft light hitting the horses at the hay feeder… Iris had other plans.

She walked herself right in the middle like, “Nope. Today’s about me.”

Main character energy fully activated. 🐴✨

Brynn is mad he has to be inside while we wait for the farrier to get here to reset the shoe he decided he didn’t need to wear over the weekend. He’s making sure Jenn knows all about it. 😂😂

Thank you so much The Blue Hoof for the generous donation of The Blue Spray and The Blue Paste to our Veterans Program!

We’ve been trying it out and so far we really like it. It’s already proving useful here at the barn and we’re grateful to have it on hand.

We appreciate the support more than you know!
