Summit Equestrian Center

Summit Equestrian Center Vision: A community where the bond between horses & individuals changes lives. Interested in volunteering?

Mission: We are the connection between the healing power of the horse & individuals who have physical or cognitive needs. We have many friends to take care of on the farm, and as the saying goes, "many hands make light work". We would love to meet you and learn about your unique gifts that would add to our team here at Summit. Whether you just want to be a side walker during lessons, groundskeeper, feeder or organizer, we have a place for you.

🌟 June is PTSD Awareness Month 🌟
PTSD affects so many people in so many different ways — veterans, first responders, survivors of trauma, parents, and everyday individuals carrying invisible battles. It doesn’t discriminate, and it can touch anyone.

This month, We want to remind everyone that you are not alone. Finding your community, connecting with people who truly understand, and reaching out for support can make all the difference in healing and learning to live well with PTSD.

If you’re struggling, know that help is available. If you know someone who is, a kind word, a listening ear, or simply showing up can mean everything.

Let’s spread awareness, reduce the stigma, and support one another. 💚

🇺🇸 In our upcoming video for Women’s Veterans Day, we’re highlighting one of our own.

Chaplain Lynda — a woman who answered the call, signed that dotted line, and served with heart and purpose.

Lynda may not always see it this way, but her commitment still carries weight. That signature meant something real. Her service as a chaplain touched lives, offered comfort in hard moments, and did more than she often gives herself credit for. She showed up when it mattered, and that’s a legacy worth honoring.

To every woman who raised her hand and stepped forward — thank you. Your service matters. Your story matters.

Where there is a veteran, there is a story. ❤️🇺🇸
Join us online on June 12th for Women’s Veterans Day!
Sit down with our incredible women veterans at Summit Equestrian Center as they share their powerful journeys of service, resilience, and healing in conversation with our Executive Director.
🎥 A special video featuring these stories will be released that day — we can’t wait for you to watch and connect with them from wherever you are.
These stories deserve to be heard. Tag a woman veteran who should see this 💜

Thursday mornings at the barn look a little different for everyone — learning new horsemanship skills, gaining confidence in the saddle, sharing laughs, and enjoying time together.

We’re thankful for the veterans who spend their mornings with us and for the horses that meet them exactly where they are. 💙🐴

These horses have such a natural way of helping our veterans feel grounded. 🐴❤️
Just being around them — calm, steady, and fully present — brings a real sense of peace. They don’t need to do anything dramatic. They simply stand there, offering a quiet kind of stability that helps people breathe easier and feel more centered again.

We see it every day in our program at Summit Equestrian Center, and we’re so grateful for the difference they make.

Walked up on these five at the water trough and it looked like straight-up office gossip hour in the barn! 😂 Heads together, ears perked… funny faces …..you just KNOW the tea was being spilled among our equestrian crew.

What do you think was going down? Were they swapping stories about the veterans, complaining about that one fly spray that never works, or plotting their next adventure?

Drop your best guesses below — We need to know we are not the only ones who imagines full conversations with these characters! 🐴

These three were hanging out in the heavy fog the other day, waiting to come in for feed. Playing hide and seek in the fog — how many horses do you see? 😂 One second they’re right there, the next they’re fading into the mist.
Foggy days like that always make the farm feel extra peaceful (and a little mysterious). 🐴🌫️

Side by side, we are INVINCIBLE. 💪🐴
At our Equestrian Center, there’s something powerful that happens when we come together. Whether you’re riding, learning, or simply sharing the experience with others in our program, the strength we build as a community is unstoppable.
Invincible describes something or someone that cannot be defeated, overcome, or subdued — possessing an unyielding strength or resilience. It implies an imperviousness to harm, challenge, or failure, often suggesting a state of being unconquerable in physical, emotional, or intellectual contexts.
That’s what we see every day in our riders and our program — side by side, we rise stronger.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we honor those who didn’t come home — the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Their courage and selflessness secured the liberties we cherish today. At Summit Equestrian Center, we pause to remember them with deep gratitude.
Today and always, we reflect on their legacy and the profound cost of freedom. We will never forget.
🕊️ How will you honor the fallen this Memorial Day?
Share their stories, visit a memorial, or simply take a moment of silence.
Thank you to all who served. We will never forget.

Watching Brooke out in the arena with Larry and Jim Thursday morning is exactly what this program is all about. It’s veterans and volunteers just showing up for each other — learning something new, cracking a few jokes, and building a little more confidence with every step.

It’s never really just about riding. It’s the talks between lessons, the encouragement when things get tricky, the trust that grows over time, and having a place where you can simply be yourself without having to explain a thing.
We’re truly grateful for every veteran who chooses to spend their time with us. Means more than we can say. 🇺🇸🐴
