Thank you to The Lutheran Foundation for their $25,000 grant to support our Child Hosting Program!

Their support is key to helping us support families and children going through a crisis, keeping kids safe and out of foster care. This grant will help staff provide guidance for Family Coaches as they walk with parents and oversee Host Families to ensure more children are kept safe and out of foster care, more parents are supported, and more churches have the opportunity to share the hope of Christ with vulnerable families.

We are so grateful for this partnership with The Lutheran Foundation to come alongside more families going through their hardest moments with hope, support, and the Gospel.

Meet our Support Line Supervisor, Darriell Giumento!🤩

Darriell has been with New Mercies for a couple years now and, and we are so thankful for the ways she supports parents every day. The Support Line is the first interaction parents have with New Mercies, and Darriell is the one who calls parents back after they talk to a volunteer. She matches them with a Host Family if we can best serve them, or provides them with other resources if not.

When Owen stayed with Host Family Ben and Abby, one of his favorite things was their backyard swing. He especially loved when Ben pushed him because, as Owen described it, he "pushed higher."🤍

That's what hosting can do. It gives kids the chance to experience the safety and childhood innocence every child deserves while their parents receive the support they need.
