That’s what our Learn to Paddle program is all about. We take it step-by-step in a safe, supportive setting so kids (and adults!) can feel confident on the water while having a great time.

Day 7: National Safe Boating Week

Always pay attention and maintain full visibility when operating a vessel.

We paddlers 🚣🏻‍♂️🚣🏿‍♀️🚣🏼‍♀️🚣🏻are well aware of the need to pay attention. Sharing the rivers with motorized vessels can sometimes be a challenge, as they aren't always looking for us. So, wear bright colors, and keep an eye out for potential dangers while on your water adventure!

Prepare for the unexpected. Make sure your water adventure is fun and safe by following these simple suggestions...

👉Check the forecast and water temperature before heading out
👉Dress for the water temperature and carry dry backup clothes
👉Always wear your life preserver
👉Carry a signal device such as a whistle or light
👉Carry a first aid kit, and bilge pump
👉Tell someone your float plan and paddle with a buddy
