On we want to highlight the heart and dedication of the educators at the Medhane-Alem School.
Preparing students for national exams takes more than just standard classroom hours. Our teachers bring in specialized curriculum support, conduct baseline pre-tests and post-tests to identify learning gaps, and give up their Saturdays to mentor students late into the afternoon.

Did you know that upwards of 80% of people in Ethiopia suffer from inadequate health literacy? This , we’re highlighting the work of our Community Health Educators at . They reach more than 40,000 families each year, teaching essential health, hygiene and sanitation practices and equipping rural communities with the knowledge needed to prevent disease and save lives. Saturday marks the third annual International Day for Women and Girls of African Descent, a day to honor the leadership, resilience, and impact of women across Africa and its diaspora. At Project Mercy, this legacy is personal. Our co-founder, Marta Gabre-Tsadick, paved the way as Ethiopia’s first female Senator. Today, her vision lives on in the women of Yetebon.

Through our Women’s Self-Help Groups, nearly 20 active groups of women are taking charge of their families’ futures, learning financial literacy, microsavings and sustainable agriculture techniques. Happy ! For families in rural Ethiopia, a cow represents a pathway out of poverty. Today we celebrate Aregash and others that have received cows from our Dairy Cattle Breeding Program in rural . Aregash has built a new home, secured a steady income and can send her children to school instead of having them work the fields.
