Tomorrow, 1/26/2021 breakfast meeting at Rich's Cafe will be cancelled do to the incoming weather.
If some of you feel safe and want to meet then you are welcome however it will not be an official meeting for the club.
I feel it the best decision as weather is coming in that will most likely make traveling hazardous and it would be best of us to stay off the roads at such an early hour and allow the City trucks to do their work

WOW.. once again God has blessed our small but mighty Club with a great financial turnout for our Annual Christmas Family Auction. Today our Club donated/raised 708 dollars for our Christmas Family fund, and with the 500 dollars the Club puts in we will be able to give Dee McKinnley of Study Elementary to help a family or two in need..
GOD IS GOOD !!!

The 2020 Optimist Oratorical Contest is in the books. What an amazing group of contestants we had this year. 6 young ladies participated and they all were very good . The judges had a hard time but were able to pick the top 3.
Special thanks to Jane Gerardot for her hard work putting this event together as well as our Judges Josefa Schaper, Sonia Scham and John Spevak. Also thanks to the other SSOC Members that made this event possible.

The Southside Optimist Club is completely funded by the community. We hold several small auctions annually for special projects. But the majority is raised through our annual Ham, Bean and Corn Bread booth at the Johnny Appleseed Festival. This event is held yearly the 3rd weekend of September, and our Club has been a part of the festival since 1980. This event will be visited by over 250,000 people from over 42 states We sell over 5000 bowls of ham and beans (600 gallons) and raise up to around $14,000 for our annual budget.
MISSION STATEMENT By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in kids.
The OPTIMIST difference….. It’s all in our name! What differentiates OPTIMIST CLUBS from any other volunteer opportunity is simple— OPTIMISM. And Optimists take their upbeat approach and work every day to make a difference for themselves and for the people around them.
