Happy Halloween from all of us at CAC! 🎃👻

Our staff got into the Halloween spirit a day early with our annual Halloween lunch yesterday! Between the creative costumes, friendly competition, and plenty of Halloween fun, it was a great opportunity to celebrate together.

We also announced the winners of our costume contests and gave away prizes from our basket raffle, helping support our United Way Campaign!

Wishing everyone a safe, fun, and spooktacular Halloween! 🧡

This month, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida is celebrating 45 years of serving children and families in our community!

Since Jill Turner founded the agency 45 years ago, so many people have played a part in shaping who we are today. From the dedicated employees who have supported our kiddos and their families, to the current and former board members who have given their time, leadership, and passion to our mission, each has helped make this work possible.

We’re also grateful for our community partners throughout Southwest Florida who stand alongside us, share our commitment to protecting children, and help us provide the support families need.

Most of all, we celebrate Jill Turner, whose vision 45 years ago started something that continues to make a difference in the lives of children and families today.

Forty-five years is a milestone worth celebrating, and we’re proud of everyone who has been part of our story. Here’s to the people who brought us this far and the work that continues ahead!

Things got a little wild at our United Way Carnival Day! 🎪🍧

Our team came together for a day of games, friendly competition, and fundraising to support our United Way Campaign. From the returning dunk tank to the prize wheel and ring toss, there were plenty of ways to get in on the fun!

But the crowd favorite? Embarrass the Boss! The leader who receives the most tickets has to wear a chicken suit for an entire day in the office. Talk about motivation to buy a few extra tickets! 😂🐔

A special thank you to Shane Spring for sponsoring our dunk tank, providing lunch from Publix for our team, and bringing the Southern SnoBalls snow cone truck out for everyone to enjoy! Your support helped make our carnival even more fun.

We had a blast bringing everyone together for a great cause partnered with United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades, and we can't wait to see which leader ends up rocking the feathers!

A big thank you to Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida, Inc. and Midwest Food Bank Florida for their generous donations that helped us restock the food pantry at our East United Way Resiliency Hub! Check out these before and after photos!

Community partnerships like this help us continue supporting children and families with resources they need. We’re grateful to have partners who show up for our community and help us keep our pantry stocked for the families we serve.

Featured in the photos are two of our wonderful volunteers, Jim and Juan, who help make this work possible. Thank you both for giving your time to support our mission!

We’re excited to introduce Andrea Hohagen, our new Front Desk Receptionist at CAC of SWFL! 💙

Andrea was drawn to CAC because of the work we do and our mission to support children and families. In her new role, she is excited to support the CAC team and be one of the welcoming faces families see when they walk through our doors.

Get to know Andrea a little better:
🛼 Favorite hobbies include cooking, even if she jokes that loving to cook doesn’t necessarily mean she knows how to cook, and rollerblading
🌴 Dream travel destination: Costa Rica
🐶 Andrea has three dogs: Bali, a Pitbull/Pug mix; Canela, a Podenco Canario from Spain; and Chewy, her senior pup who is also from Spain
🌊 Fun fact: Andrea lived in Madrid, Spain, for four years but eventually returned because she missed being close to the ocean!

We’re so happy to have Andrea joining the CAC team and look forward to seeing her welcome and support the families we serve each day. Welcome, Andrea! 🎉

Our Level Up Dads families had a fantastic time at our Fall Festival earlier this month at Southern Fresh Farms ! 🍂🎃

From learning about the farm’s animals and gardens to painting pumpkins, bouncing around in the bounce house, and enjoying a hayrack ride, there was plenty of fun for dads and kids to share.

Level Up! Dads is all about helping fathers build stronger connections with their children, and events like these create opportunities for families to spend quality time together and make lasting memories.

Thank you to Southern Fresh Farms for hosting us and helping make this day so special for our families! 💙

Today, CAC wore purple in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

Wearing purple is a way to show support for survivors, honor those affected by domestic violence, and raise awareness about the importance of safe, healthy relationships.

At Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and protected. Together, we can help break the cycle of violence and create safer futures for children and families in our community.

Sometimes, making a difference means going the extra mile, or in this case, riding 350 miles from Cape Coral to Key West! 🚴‍♂️💙

Nearly two years ago, our board member Jonathan Gabel connected us with Jeremy David Holston, who wanted to find a meaningful way to support the children and families served by the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida.

What started as an idea turned into an incredible community effort. Jeremy rallied a group of riders and found countless ways to support CAC’s mission, from hosting fundraisers at Roots House of Kava and engaging vendors through his screen business to collecting donations and sharing our mission at community events.

Together, they raised $6,000 to support the children and families we serve!
Last night, we had the opportunity to celebrate this amazing accomplishment and share more about CAC’s work, including the importance of prevention and keeping children safe.

This effort is a reminder of what can happen when people come together for a cause they believe in. Jeremy and his team did more than take on an incredible physical challenge. They helped raise awareness, start conversations, and inspire others to get involved.

Thank you to Jeremy, all the riders, everyone who contributed and supported this effort, and Jonathan for helping bring it all together. We also appreciate Free Your Mind FYM Florida and every community partner who helped make this possible.

350 miles, $6,000 raised, and a community coming together to help keep children safe. That’s what making a difference looks like! 💙

Today, our CAC team wore pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💗

We’re proud to stand alongside everyone who has been affected by breast cancer, including survivors, those currently fighting, and the families and loved ones who support them. Today was a reminder that awareness matters, early detection saves lives, and no one should have to face their journey alone.

From all of us at CAC, we’re sending love and support to everyone impacted by breast cancer. 💕

Bingo for a good cause! 💙

Last week, our CAC staff had some fun playing Bingo while raising money for our United Way Campaign! Every dollar raised helps support United Way’s work in our community, and we love seeing our team come together to make a difference.

A special thank you to Carolyn Johnson, our United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Campaign Manager, for joining us for the fun!

And of course, we had to capture a photo of Carolyn and our CEO, Alicia, showing off their Florida Gator Pride as Gator Grads! 🧡💙
