An Eventful Saturday for XOL!

Today, the Brothers of Xi Omicron Lambda were on the move throughout Southwest Florida!

Leadership: Immediate Past President Bro. Petit led today’s NPHC meeting, continuing to strengthen collaboration among our Divine Nine organizations.

Impact: Bro. Antwon Lindsey hosted the I Was Meant For Me Experience at the Collaboratory—an empowering afternoon centered on uplifting our community.

Brotherhood: We welcomed Immediate Past Vice President Bro. Blakely back to Southwest Florida, with Brothers lending a hand and ending the day with some good food and fellowship.

Different spaces. Different ways of serving. One Brotherhood.

Just another Saturday of Brotherhood, Leadership & Impact.

FIRST OF ALL, WE VOTE.

Today was Florida Primary Election Day, and we are reminded that our voices matter, not only on Election Day, but throughout the year.

Through Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.®’s A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People program, Xi Omicron Lambda remains committed to voter education, civic engagement, and empowering our community to make its voice heard.

Today was the Primary. The work continues.

A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People.

As FGCU kicks off a new academic year, Xi Omicron Lambda would like to wish the Brothers of our undergraduate chapter, Upsilon Sigma, a successful year!

Bro. President Lee, Bro. Vice President D. Watson, Bro. Treasurer Smith, and Bro. Secretary R. Watson, continue to lead, achieve, and represent Alpha with excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

Here’s to a year of scholarship, leadership, Brotherhood, and impact. 🤙🏾

Have a great first day, Brothers!

📚 Starting the school year with IMPACT!

This morning, Xi Omicron Lambda Chapter President Bro. Travell “T.O.” Oakes and Immediate Past President Bro. Willitone Petit participated in Gentlemen’s Welcome at James Stephens Elementary School, greeting students as they arrived for their first day!

A smile. A high five. A few words of encouragement. Sometimes making an impact simply starts with showing up.

Wishing all the students, educators, staff, and families an amazing school year! ✏️📓

Registration. Education. Engagement.

Today, Brothers of the Xi Omicron Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.® were proud to support the League of Women Voters of Lee County at Unite & Rise for Voting Rights.

We were especially proud to hear from our very own Bro. Jarrett Eady, who shared insight on the history and current status of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. We also had the opportunity to view a clip from With a Made Up Mind: The History of the Black Vote in Southwest Florida, which Bro. Eady served as a producer.

This work reflects our continued commitment to Alpha Phi Alpha’s national program, A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People®. During this election year, Xi Omicron Lambda will remain intentional about advancing civic participation through Registration, Education, and Engagement.

Knowing our history matters. Understanding our rights matters. Using our voice matters.

Community. Connection. Collaboration.

Last night, Brothers of the Xi Omicron Lambda Chapter were proud to support our very own Bro. Martin Byrd, President of the 100 Black Men of Southwest Florida, at their community social hosted at Southern Charm Bistro.

The evening was filled with great conversation, meaningful connections, and incredible food. More importantly, it was a reminder that some of the strongest communities are built when people intentionally come together to build relationships.

Thank you, Bro. Byrd, for your leadership and commitment to creating spaces that bring our community together. We look forward to continuing to support the impactful work of the 100 Black Men of Southwest Florida.

This past weekend, the Executive Boards of Xi Omicron Lambda and Upsilon Sigma, along with members of our Undergraduate Advisory Team, came together for the Southwest Florida Leadership Institute.

Together, we invested in one another through authentic conversations, leadership development, strategic planning, and a shared commitment to strengthening our chapters for the year ahead.

Our theme, “Leading with Brotherhood, Purpose, and Impact,” served as a reminder that leadership is about more than holding a title; it’s about serving others, building relationships, and leaving our chapter better than we found it.

A special thank you to Florida District Director Bro. Christopher Polke for joining us virtually during lunch and sharing words of wisdom and encouragement with our leadership teams.

We’re excited for what lies ahead and look forward to serving our Brotherhood, our campus, and the Southwest Florida community throughout the 2026–2027 fraternal year.

Congratulations to our Bro. Travell “T.O.” Oakes, on serving as faculty for the NASPA Dungy Leadership Institute at the University of Portland.

As a doctoral candidate at Florida State University, Bro. Oakes had the opportunity to mentor and develop the next generation of student affairs professionals from across the country. His commitment to leadership development, education, and service continues to make a meaningful impact both on campus and beyond.

We are proud to see his dedication to developing leaders reflected on a national stage.

First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All.
