Teen Challenge Southeast Region-Fort Myers, FL

Teen Challenge is the oldest, largest and most successful program of its kind in the world.

Established in 1958 by David Wilkerson, Teen Challenge has grown to more than 170 centers in the United States and 250 centers world-wide. Our center in Southwest Florida is a residential program with a minimum of 12 mo

nths commitment required of the student. During their stay here, they will experience (some for the first time in their lives) a strict schedule, personal structure, accountability to authority, individual mentoring relationships, and one-on-one counseling. They will also participate in Biblically-based Life Skills Training classes along with supervised work details which enable them to learn new patterns of thinking and behavior in personal relationships. Through the journey, they will come to learn to truly depend upon God, developing a personal relationship with Him, which is the only thing which can truly change one's heart. Our Education Coordinator, Leslie, and intern Kate did a phenomenal job representing Fort Myers Teen Challenge at Reach Assembly church on Sunday!

This is the heart of what Teen Challenge has always been about; meeting people where they are, sharing hope, and pointing them to the life-changing power of Christ.

We are so grateful for the support of local businesses, ministries, and community partners who help make our mission possible. Because of partnerships like these, we are able to continue ‘Putting Hope Within Reach’ for men and women seeking freedom from addiction and life-controlling issues.

🌍✈️ ANNOUNCING OUR 2026 MEN’S HONDURAS MISSIONS TRIP! 🇭🇳

We are thrilled to announce that a team from Fort Myers Teen Challenge will be traveling to Honduras August 5–12, 2026 to serve, evangelize, build, and disciple—and we are especially excited that our very own Pastor David Hunter will be leading this team.

This mission is about far more than a trip. It is about bringing the hope of Jesus Christ to people in need and partnering with what God is doing in Honduras.

During this mission, our team will:

🤝 Serve through practical acts of kindness, meals, and outreach
✝️ Evangelize by sharing the Gospel and bringing hope to the lost
🔨 Build through construction and renovation projects
📖 Disciple by investing in lives through teaching and encouragement

At Fort Myers Teen Challenge, our mission is to put hope within reach. This trip is an opportunity to extend that mission beyond our local community and into the nations.

Two Events. Same Day. One Mission.🙌

Building relationships and raising awareness are important parts of the mission! This week we were blessed with two opportunities to connect with others who are passionate about seeing lives transformed through recovery.

We had the privilege of hosting representatives from the Sarasota County Jail for a tour. It was a great opportunity to share our program, discuss the challenges many individuals face when reentering society, and explore ways we can work together to help people find lasting freedom.

That same evening, several of our staff, alumni, and interns attended the Oxford House documentary premiere. The event brought together recovery organizations, advocates, and community leaders from across Southwest Florida, creating meaningful opportunities to network, learn, and strengthen partnerships within the recovery community.

Lives are changed when organizations come together around a common purpose. We are grateful for every partnership, every conversation, and every opportunity to share the hope that is found in Christ.

Today, we are celebrating Gage Brooks and recognizing him for exemplifying one of our core values: Continuous Improvement!🙌

Gage, a Teen Challenge graduate, serves as our Intern and Vocational Coordinator and has been a tremendous asset to the Fort Myers Teen Challenge team. Since joining us from Jacksonville Teen Challenge, he has consistently demonstrated focus, dedication, humility, and a genuine passion for ministry. His commitment to personal growth and excellence is evident in the way he serves our students, staff, and mission every day.

At Teen Challenge, our core values are more than words on a wall. They are principles we strive to live out daily. Our students are always watching, and one of the greatest ways we can inspire them is by modeling the growth, discipline, and character we hope to see developed in their own lives.

🔥ROOTED | 2026 ELP Summit🔥

What an incredible blessing to be part of the 2026 Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) Summit!

This year’s theme, “Rooted,” was a powerful reminder that before God calls us to greater influence, He calls us to deeper roots. Strong leaders are not built on talent alone. They are built on a firm foundation in Christ!

Fort Myers Teen Challenge was honored to bring 13 interns and students to this year’s summit. Over the past few days, they’ve been challenged, encouraged, equipped, and inspired through powerful worship, fellowship, leadership development, and impactful messages from our Executive Leadership Team.

There’s something special about gathering with men and women passionately pursuing the Lord and seeking His direction for their lives. We watched our students connect with leaders from across the region, grow in confidence, build lasting relationships, and gain a greater vision for what God can do through their lives.

The future is bright when leaders are firmly rooted in God’s Word, grounded in their identity in Christ, committed to serving others and ready to change the world!🌎

At Fort Myers Teen Challenge, we believe true recovery is holistic… spirit, soul, and body. Every single day, men walk through our doors broken by addiction, hopelessness, trauma, and years of destruction. They are fighting for their lives, families, and their futures.

Our current workout area is old, rusted, broken down, and honestly no longer reflects the dignity these men deserve. We believe they deserve better! 🙏

This Sunday we get to celebrate Erich! We are so proud of the diligence, perseverance, and growth he has shown throughout his program at Fort Myers Teen Challenge. He has faithfully done what was asked of him, faced and overcome personal battles with courage, and continued pressing forward in God’s strength.

We are excited to see all that the Lord has in store for his next season as he steps into an internship here in Fort Myers. Erich, your story is a beautiful testimony of God’s faithfulness, and we are cheering you on for all that’s ahead! 🎉🙌🏻
