The sanctuary is so grateful to wonderful supporters like Crystal Romero who comes and takes care of all the pups grooming needs. She has been so dedicated to us. If you need a Groomer, let me know and I’ll put you in contact with her. She’s absolutely outstanding.

Archie and CJ got groomed, along with cleanups for Leo and Louise, their camera shy.

Several nail trims. Thank you so much, Crystal.❤️🐕🐾

🧊🐾 DONATION THANK YOU SPOTLIGHT — ICE, ICE BABY! 🐾🧊
⭐ Celia Rubin & Mr. Lucky Dog
Sanctuary ⭐

A huge thank you to Celia Rubin and Mr. Lucky Dog Sanctuary for their generous ice donation for Paws, Pumpkins & Muddy Mutts — K9 X Games & Fall Festival!

Keeping hundreds of people, volunteers, and K9 athletes cool and hydrated throughout a Florida event takes a lot of ice — and this donation is going to make a tremendous difference on event day.
Celia and Mr. Lucky Dog Sanctuary are already such an important part of this event as one of our Signature Event Partners, bringing the excitement of the SwiftPaws Lure Course and helping make the morning unforgettable for our canine competitors. To step up once again and help with something as essential as keeping everyone cool means even more.

Thank you for always showing up for the dogs, for rescue, and for this event. 🧡🐾
Ice, Ice Baby — rescue style! 🧊😎

Because of you, another dog gets a second chance.

It’s been a busy week here at the Sanctuary. Unfortunately, we’ve been spending a little more time than we’d like at the vets. 🐾❤️

Shadow was spayed on Tuesday, and during her surgery, she began bleeding an excessive amount. It quickly became an all-hands-on-deck situation as everyone worked together to get the bleeding under control and get Shadow safely stitched back up.
A huge thank-you to Dr. Davis and the other veterinarian who stepped in to help, as well as the entire veterinary team. It truly took everyone working together in that moment, and I am so grateful for each of them. Thank you Suburban Animal Hospital.

Thankfully, Shadow is doing great right now. ❤️ She needed some additional blood testing to check her clotting time, and she’ll be on some special medication for the next few days. We’re keeping a close eye on our girl.

At the same time on Tuesday, Archie was being tested for Cushing’s disease. The testing is an all-day process that involves medication and multiple blood draws to measure hormone levels.
The news is that Archie does have Cushing’s disease. What we don’t know is exactly what is causing this, his brain or his adrenal gland. At his age, we’ve decided that figuring out the exact source isn’t as important as keeping him comfortable and treating the symptoms.

He’ll be starting some special medication to help manage those symptoms. With Cushing’s disease, there isn’t a cure, so treatment focuses on managing the symptoms and helping the dog feel as good as possible.

Please keep Shadow and Archie in your thoughts. ❤️

When you care for seniors, you just never know what each day is going to bring. There are good days, scary days, and everything in between. But one thing is certain—they are loved, they are cared for, and we will do everything we can for them. 🐾❤️

That’s what Sanctuary life is all about.
