Today, on Mother’s Day, we want to celebrate the heart behind Fur and Tails Animal Rescue — our President Carri, a mother not only to her children, but to every frightened, abandoned, sick, forgotten, and unwanted animal who has crossed her path.
Animal rescue is not a hobby. It is not a job you leave at the office. It is a life of sacrifice, sleepless nights, heartbreak, financial strain, constant worry, and loving anyway. It means canceled plans, emergency vet visits, bottle babies at 3 a.m., and opening your heart over and over again even when it’s exhausted.
And somehow… she still does it with tenderness.
Hundreds of animals every year are alive because she refused to look away. Dogs who were dumped. Puppies born into impossible situations. Senior animals discarded when they needed love the most. She has fought for them all with everything she has.
But beyond rescue, she has also built a family rooted in compassion. To know her is to know selflessness. To be loved by her is one of life’s greatest gifts- just ask her daughter, Vice President of the rescue!
Today we celebrate not just an incredible rescue leader, but an incredible mother, mentor, advocate, and human being. Fur and Tails would not exist without her heart.
