We are excited to officially welcome Heather Evans as the new Executive Director of The Imagine Initiative. Heather brings decades of experience in both education and ministry, along with deep passion for building meaningful partnerships between churches and schools.

Heather previously taught in The School District of Lee County and has served on staff at Grace Church for more than 20 years as both Kids Director and Missions Director.

For the past three years, Heather has led the partnership between Grace Church and Allen Park Elementary School, helping launch a mentorship program and creating a monthly family dinner at the school to strengthen relationships with students and families.

But this is not Heather’s first experience partnering churches and schools. Years ago, while teaching at Tropic Isles Elementary, she connected church members with students in her classroom through a mentoring initiative - long before church-school partnerships became the heart of The Imagine Initiative’s mission.

Heather’s heart for students, families, schools, and the local church makes her a natural fit to lead Imagine into its next season. We are excited to see how she will continue to grow and strengthen this movement throughout Lee County and beyond.

Over the past two years, Ursula has been an incredibly important part of The Imagine Initiative. As she prepares to leave Imagine and step into a new job opportunity, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the tremendous impact she has had on this ministry.

While many people may not have seen all that she carried behind the scenes, her work helped keep so many parts of Imagine running smoothly every single day.

From managing systems and organization to helping support our church and school partnerships, Ursula brought dedication, wisdom, steadiness, and care to everything she did. She has been a tremendous support to our team, our partners, and to me personally during both exciting seasons of growth and seasons of transition. Many of the things that happen at Imagine simply would not have happened without her faithful and quiet leadership behind the scenes.

As Imagine walks through a season of transition, her presence will be deeply missed. At the same time, we are so grateful for all she has poured into this ministry and excited for her as she steps into her next chapter. Ursula has shared some good bye words below.

Dear Friends,

I am so grateful for each of you and the role you have played in the story of The Imagine Initiative. Because of your prayers, generosity, and partnership, we have seen God do more than we could have asked or imagined in our schools and community.

As I shared recently, this year will mark a leadership transition for Imagine. With that in mind, we are officially beginning the process of hiring our next Executive Director.
This is an important and exciting step as we look toward the future. We believe the right leader will build on the strong foundation that has been established and help carry the vision forward in ways that continue to bring help, hope, and healing to schools across Lee County and beyond.

I would love your help in this process.

Hi Imagine Initiative Family,

As you read above, Rhonda Dahlin let us know that she had been approached about an opportunity with another organization. After prayerful consideration, she sensed God leading her to step into this new season and, as a result, transition out of her role with The Imagine Initiative in August.

While this news was unexpected, we are grateful for the thoughtful and healthy way this transition has unfolded. Rhonda has faithfully led The Imagine Initiative from the very beginning, and her leadership has helped shape a mission that is now impacting schools, churches, and communities in meaningful ways.

As a board, we want you to know that we are committed to stewarding this next season well. The mission of The Imagine Initiative remains strong, and we are beginning the process of identifying the next Executive Director who will build on this foundation and help lead the organization forward.

Hello friends,

Stepping out in faith four years ago, God gave me Ephesians 3:20–21 as a promise that every dream I carried for what was possible, He would fulfill far beyond what I could see, accomplishing immeasurably more than even my biggest, God sized vision. I started The Imagine Initiative, believing that as churches partnered with schools, God would do more than we could ever ask or imagine.

And He has.

Through the ministry of The Imagine Initiative, He has opened school doors, mobilized churches, met family needs, encouraged school staff, and brought people to faith in Him.

It is with by sadness and joy that I share that in August I will be stepping down from my position as Founder and Director of Imagine.

God has presented my husband and me with a new step of faith in ministry. We will be joining the team at Care for Pastors, a national organization that walks alongside pastors, their spouses, and their children. This ministry has been a personal source of support for me over the past nine years as I have navigated the highs and lows of ministry life. I am excited to step into a role where I can serve alongside my husband and care for ministry families as they faithfully serve churches across the country.

At the same time, I am deeply saddened to step away from Imagine. I never dreamed that the Lord would allow me to birth and grow a ministry that would impact so many. I love working with our school and church partners, dreaming about and implementing ways to serve our most at risk students and families, and helping the church live out the gospel in our community. These have been some of the most joy filled years of ministry I have ever experienced, and I am incredibly grateful for each of you.

The best is yet to come for The Imagine Initiative and for the work being done through our church partnerships in schools. God is not finished here, and I look forward to seeing all that He continues to do in and through this ministry.

We are so grateful we go to share about our mission with baseball fans. ⚾️
