❤️🤍💙A disabled veteran who proudly served in the Army Reserves for 30 years, Ernest has faced significant mobility challenges after suffering a stroke. Everyday tasks, especially entering and exiting the shower, had become dangerous after experiencing multiple falls inside his bathroom. 🧡

Immediate safety improvements were made, including the installation of grab bars to provide stability and support. Additional repairs followed: locks were replaced, an A/C filter was changed, a clogged toilet was repaired, and a RING security camera was installed to help Ernest safely answer the door without rushing. 🌈

During the visit, it was also discovered that his stove, microwave, and dishwasher were no longer working. Through the support and generosity of The Home Depot, new appliances were purchased, delivered, and installed... helping restore both comfort and independence inside Ernest’s home.

Most importantly, Ernest shared that these repairs have improved his self-esteem and helped him feel safer and more secure in the place he calls home.

This is what National Rebuilding Month is all about, neighbors helping neighbors and restoring dignity through safe housing. 💚💚💚

💛A heartfelt thank you to UKG for supporting critical home repairs for a 66-year-old Navy veteran, who has lived in his home for more than 25 years.💛

Living with multiple serious health challenges, including a neurological disorder, COPD, hearing loss, and the effects of a previous stroke, Anthony relies on both his caregiver and a safe, accessible home environment.

Thanks to UKG’s generosity and volunteer support, important repairs including a new ramp, roof improvements, interior repairs, and exterior debris removal helped create a safer and more comfortable space for Anthony to continue living independently.

We are incredibly grateful to UKG for standing beside our community during National Rebuilding Month and helping restore safety, dignity, and hope. 💙

For 25 years, Anthony has called this house home.

A Navy veteran, Anthony, 66, now faces daily challenges related to serious health conditions including a major neurological disorder, congestive heart failure, COPD, hearing loss, anxiety, and the lasting effects of a previous stroke. With the support of his caregiver, he continues fighting to remain safely in the home he has lived in for decades.

During National Rebuilding Month, that home received the critical care it needed.

Repairs including a new accessibility ramp, roof work, interior repairs, and exterior debris removal helped improve both safety and quality of life for Anthony. What may look like construction from the outside represents something much deeper... stability, accessibility, and peace of mind.

This project was made possible through the dedication of volunteers, technicians, community partners, and the support of UKG, whose commitment helped make these life-changing repairs a reality.

Every repair tells a story. This one is about honoring a veteran, supporting independence, and reminding our neighbors they are not alone. 💙

A home transformation that means so much more than repairs.

Thanks to the incredible generosity, hard work, and dedication of Ferguson (Home, Plumbing, Bath), Christine’s home has been given a new chapter. Their team played a vital role during National Rebuilding Month, helping restore safety, dignity, and peace of mind for a local elderly homeowner in need.

We are deeply grateful for the time, compassion, and care that went into this project. Community partnerships like this truly change lives.

Thank you, Ferguson, for helping us rebuild hope... one home at a time. 💙

For over a year, Christine, 79, faced ongoing code violation fines from the city while living in unsafe housing conditions. What began in April of last year became a constant source of stress and uncertainty.

During National Rebuilding Month, that changed.

With the support of Ferguson Plumbing and an incredibly dedicated construction team, critical repairs were completed to help restore Christine’s home and improve her quality of life. From the first day on site to the final touches, every step reflected compassion, professionalism, and care.

A special thank you to Phillip, the head technician, whose leadership and commitment helped bring this project to life. The hard work of every builder and volunteer made a lasting difference for Christine and her future.

These before-and-after moments are more than renovations... they represent relief, safety, and a community coming together when it matters most. 💙

Service in Action. Community at the Center.

This past weekend, Rebuilding Together Broward County was proud to bring together community volunteers, the Broward Municipal Services District (BMSD), and The Home Depot Foundation for a powerful day of service focused on strengthening our neighborhoods.

From beautification and repairs to hands-on improvements that create safer, more welcoming spaces, this work reflects what’s possible when partners and volunteers come together with a shared commitment to community. 💙

Thank you to every volunteer and partner who rolled up their sleeves and helped make a lasting impact. This is what service looks like in action.

On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we honor Dr. King’s enduring commitment to housing equality—a cornerstone of his broader vision for civil rights.

As he once said:

“We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

Dr. King’s words remind us that uplifting one strengthens us all. Rebuilding Together Broward County embodies this statement by bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners.

As we reflect on Dr. King’s legacy, we are inspired to continue our mission of repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives. Through this work, we strive to strengthen the interconnected fabric of our community, affirming that every individual deserves a dignified home.
