Thank you to LOTWC board member and Associate Professor at the FAU Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University, Lynne Palma, a Board-Certified Advanced Diabetes Management Clinician who facilitated several interactive Diabetes Self-Management sessions for LOTWC patients July through October. Assisting her were doctoral nursing students Jada Ragland and Erika Morgan, and Masters student Daisy Hernandez.

Participants learned healthy eating habits, glucose monitoring, how to reduce risks and more with qualifying patients receiving continuous glucose monitors (CGM).

We're thrilled to share that LOTWC co-founder Elaine Vasquez was honored as a Hometown Hero by Las Olas Boulevard & Isles Magazine at a luncheon on Monday. Her fellow honorees included The Allen Family, Anita & Ralph Beyer, Dev Motwani, Nancy Lynn Brown, and Dara and Jarrett Levan. If the honorees weren't inspiring enough, actor and philanthropist Gary Sinise participated in a fireside chat with Jennifer O'Flannery Anderson about his commitment to service members, first responders, veterans, and their families. Representing the Clinic were Medical Director Dr. Reyes, President & CEO Sandra Lozano Barry, and board members Phyllis Cambria, Wendy D'Uva of Southeastern Health Management Associates, Roger Hicks of Electrum Branding, and Miream Sierra of Amherst Innovative Living, LLC.

Happy anniversary to our amazing Outreach Coordinator, Adena! She's likely at a health fair, community event, or health conference raising awareness of our free healthcare services among Broward County's uninsured residents. Thanks to her efforts, the Clinic experienced almost 10,000 outreach encounters in 2025 alone! Go Adena, go!
