Last week, following the tragic loss of a colleague to su***de, our therapy dogs were called upon to support a group of employees as they came together to process a difficult loss.

After the visit, a participant shared that our volunteers and therapy dogs were "part of the necessary process that we are experiencing" and that "not even heavy downpours could stop the love that day."

Feedback like this reminds us that showing up matters. Whether it's spending time together, checking in on a friend, or simply saying "I love you," small acts of care can make a meaningful difference.

We're especially grateful to Dr. Brandt Foundation for supporting our mental health visits this year. Because of their commitment to mental health and su***de prevention, we were able to answer this call and help create a safe space for connection and healing when it was needed most. Their support helps us bring therapy dogs to people facing difficult moments throughout our community, offering comfort, compassion, and a reminder that no one has to face life's challenges alone.

As we recognize Su***de Prevention Month, we're reminded of the message at the heart of The Dr. Brandt Foundation's work: "Say I love you." 🩷

Sometimes it's as simple as checking in on a friend, reaching out to a coworker, or calling a family member just to let them know you're thinking about them. You never know how much those words might mean. 🫶🏽🐾

🐾 Meet Therapy Dog Venus! 🐾 She's a sweet, almost 6-year-old Australian Shepherd with a gentle heart and a special gift for making people feel loved. 💜

Six months ago, Venus and her mom, Suzanne, became a certified Canine Assisted Therapy team, and this past weekend they earned their Children's Certification! 🎉

Since joining our volunteer family, Venus and Suzanne have shared comfort and smiles at corporate wellness events, universities, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, senior living communities, and treatment facilities throughout South Florida.

Whether she's offering a comforting cuddle, a listening ear, or simply her calming presence, Venus has a remarkable way of brightening everyone's day.

Thank you, Venus and Suzanne, for making such a positive impact in our community, one visit at a time. 🐾❤️
