🌿 A garden rooted in NSU history and healing.
During a recent conversation with NSU alumnus Dr. Quan Pho, Pharm.D. ’02, we learned more about his connection to the creation of NSU’s Medicinal and Healing Garden.

As a student in the first Pharm.D. class at NSU’s Davie campus, Dr. Pho worked closely with the garden’s curator, David McLean, and helped bring the vision for this unique space to life. Dr. Pho also contributed to the educational mission of the garden by giving lectures on medicinal plants and highlighting their historical use in healing practices, helping connect pharmacy education with the natural origins of many therapeutic compounds.

Today, the Medicinal and Healing Garden continues to be a special part of our NSU community by providing a space for education, reflection, and healing. Hearing Dr. Pho share his memories reminded us of the lasting impact our alumni have had in shaping the NSU experience. 🌱

A special thank you to Carsten Evans, Ph.D., for giving our team a tour of the garden and sharing more about this space and reinforcing its continued impact.

🌊 Throwback Thursday!

This past April, members of our President's Associates joined President Harry K. Moon at the Guy Harvey Oceanographic Center to celebrate Earth Month and explore NSU’s meaningful impact on ocean conservation and research.

Guests heard from NSU's Halmos College of Arts & Sciences Dean Robin Cooper, Ph.D., and NSU coral researchers before getting a hands-on look inside our coral growing lab. 🪸 From learning about leading-edge ocean research to seeing coral restoration efforts up close, it was an unforgettable experience beneath the surface of NSU innovation!

The evening also featured incredible entertainment from Jake on the Lake and live artwork by Cherished Rain - Live Event Painting making the celebration even more memorable. 🎶🎨
