Plenty!

Plenty! Neighbors growing and sharing food. Programs Are Fueled By Volunteers Who Are The Heart Of Plenty! And all financial contributions to Plenty! are tax deductible.

Volunteers help neighbors, make a difference in our community, have fun and feel great. PlentyFresh! Food Bank: The Food Bank is open Monday from 1 - 4pm, Tuesday from 10am - 1pm, and Thursday from 4 - 6:30pm. Volunteers stock shelves, greet people, and help bag their selections. Portable Produce: During the growing season (June through Thanksgiving), volunteers bag fresh produce grown on the Plen

ty! and neighboring farms, and by local gardeners, for individuals and families who can't come to the Food Bank. We pack 60+ bags each week, ranging from produce for people living alone to large families. Volunteer drivers deliver the bagged food over our rough roads to bring healthy food and company. Volunteers also take Portable Produce door-to-door in an apartment complex where older adults and people with disabilities live. Plenty! Farm: Work with the Farm Manager on tasks that change with the seasons. Plant, w**d, water, or harvest for the Food Bank. Volunteers are sometimes needed to pick produce at other farms that contribute to the Food Bank. Donation Hours: Monday from 9 - 10 am, Tuesday from 2 - 4 pm and Wednesday and Thursday from 11 am - 1 pm. Free Community Lunch: Join neighbors for lunch every Wednesday in summer (June-Aug), the fourth Wednesday of other months.

🀝 International Day of Charity | September 5

Observed each year on September 5, International Day of Charity recognizes the power of generosity, service, and collective action to strengthen communities and improve lives.

At Plenty! Farm & Food Bank, we see that power every day. What started as a small community effort has grown into a movement to ensure everyone in Floyd County has access to healthy, fresh food.

That spirit lives in our volunteers who grow food on the farm, pack our 3-day-a-week pantry, stock two free community fridges, deliver to neighbors who can't get to us, and teach skills through Farm School.

Giving back isn't just about food β€” it's about showing up for one another. It's our time, our harvest, our knowledge, and our compassion shared.

Today we celebrate our volunteers, donors, farmers, and neighbors who make Plenty! possible. You make Floyd County a little better than you found it. πŸ’›

How will you give back today?
Volunteer, donate, share garden extra, or just check on a neighbor.

Our driveway expansion is COMPLETE! πŸŽ‰
We are thrilled to share that this much-needed project is officially done β€” improving access to healthy food AND safety for everyone who visits the farm and pantry.
We want to give a sincere, heartfelt THANK YOU to two amazing partners who made this possible:
Reed Construction Inc. (Garth Reed) β€” Thank you for an AMAZING job and for your incredibly generous in-kind donation of labor. Your craftsmanship and care for our community means so much.
Walker Family Foundation (Sally and Frank Walker) β€” Thank you for your very generous donation toward this project. Your support helped turn this dream into a reality.
Because of you, neighbors can access fresh, healthy food more safely and easily. This is what community looks like. πŸ’š

September is Hunger Action Month 🧑
Hunger is right here in our own neighborhoods β€” but together, we can do something about it.
Here are 5 ways you can help this month:
1. Donate non-expired items to our pantry - Soup, canned goods, and shelf-stable staples are always needed. 1 can = 1 act of love.
2. Give $5 - Just $5 helps us provide a meal for a neighbor in need.
https://www.givelocalnrv.org/organization/Plenty
3. Volunteer - 1 hour of your time helps us sort, pack, and serve families. Use link to sign up: https://plentyfoodpantry.org/how-to-help/
4. Share this post - Help us spread the word. Awareness IS action.
5. Take the pledge to go ORANGE - Wear orange and speak up about hunger in our community.
Every action counts, no matter how small. Thank you for standing with us in the fight against hunger.
