🌱 MEMBER MONDAY! 🌱

Sometimes the best local businesses have a story that starts much smaller than where they are today.

For Deer Park Farm, LLC, that story started with a piece of land, a garden, and a simple goal: grow good, clean food.

Donald “Swede” McBroom purchased the property in 2010 with a vision that originally centered around a home, a meditation hall and a retreat space. A garden came next—and eventually, some homemade pickles and sauerkraut that were originally made to share with family and friends.

Then people started asking for more!

What began in a home kitchen grew into farmers markets, more gardens, greenhouses, a commercial kitchen and an expanding line of farm-made products. Today, Deer Park Farm makes everything from pickles, kraut, jams and jellies to marinara, salsa, hot sauces and handmade ravioli—using ingredients grown on the farm whenever possible and sourcing locally when they can't.

But Deer Park Farm is about more than what's in the jar.
▪️ It's a working farm.
▪️ It's a kitchen.
▪️ It's a farm store.
▪️ It's greenhouses.
▪️ It's a place to slow down.
And it's a place where food, agriculture and community come together. 🌿

Their mission says it beautifully: providing healthy food and good jobs to wonderful people dedicated to making the best products with the best ingredients.

And this Wednesday, we're excited to get a closer look at all of it during our Chamber Business After Hours at Deer Park Farm!

So today, we're giving a big Member Monday shout-out to a business that's quite literally growing something good in our community. ❤️

👇 What's your favorite Deer Park Farm product?
Pickles?
Kraut?
Ravioli?
Salsa?
Hot sauce?
Or have you discovered something we haven't mentioned?

Tell us in the comments—and then come see where it all happens Wednesday night!

Some places are a business. Some places become part of the fabric of a community.

Wildwood Farms General Store & Daylilies is definitely the latter. ❤️

Located LESS than 5 miles south of our one-and-only stoplight on Route 221, Wildwood Farms has been growing and sharing its love of daylilies since 1999. Their gardens feature hundreds of varieties of daylilies, from doubles and miniatures to spidery and unusual forms.

But Wildwood is so much more than flowers!

The General Store offers garden and home décor, unique gifts, pantry items, Virginia-made foods and more. And then they often have bluegrass music and classic car cruise-ins. Follow their page or visit their website for the schedule!

And if you've ever been to one of their music events or cruise-ins, you know that Wildwood Farms has become one of those places where people don't just shop—they GATHER. Their 2026 cruise-in schedule includes the first and third Sundays through October, with live entertainment and an open invitation to come out and enjoy the afternoon.

That's one of the things we love about our Chamber members: they're not just filling a need. They're creating places for people to connect, make memories and enjoy Floyd.

So today, let's give a little love to Wildwood Farms! 🌺

👇 What's your favorite thing about Wildwood Farms?
The daylilies? The store? The music? The cruise-ins? Or maybe there's a memory you have there that makes you smile.

Tell us about it! ❤️

MEMBER MONDAY! 🏡✨

Let’s talk about something we all use every single day—but probably don’t think about very often… The floor under our feet!

This week, we’re happy to shine a spotlight on Floyd Floor Co. , a locally owned flooring company right here in Floyd!

📍 203 Fox St. NW, Unit A, Floyd 📞 540-302-2858

Whether you're building, renovating, replacing a worn-out floor, or simply dreaming about giving a room a whole new look, Floyd Floor Co. helps customers navigate the MANY choices that come with flooring—from hardwood and engineered hardwood to luxury vinyl and laminate.

What we especially love about their approach? It's not just about picking something that looks pretty. They focus on helping customers find flooring that actually fits their lifestyle, space and needs, with straightforward advice and free estimates.

And behind Floyd Floor Co. is years of hands-on construction experience, giving the business a practical understanding of what goes into a flooring project from selection to installation.

So let's show a little love for another local business!

👇 What's your favorite type of flooring?
Hardwood? Luxury vinyl? Tile? Carpet? Something else?

And if you've worked with Floyd Floor Co., tell us about your experience in the comments!

Support local. Shop local. Build local. ❤️

What is one of THE BEST THINGS about being in business in a Small Town?

You don't have to figure everything out alone!
• Need a recommendation?
• Looking for a contractor?
• Need help with something you've never dealt with before?
• Trying to find someone to collaborate with?

Chances are, somebody in our local business community knows somebody!

That's one of the things we love about the Floyd County Chamber.

It's not just a directory of businesses. It's a network of people!

People who can introduce you, refer you, collaborate with you, celebrate you and sometimes just understand what it's like to run a business in a small town.

And that's pretty valuable.

❤️ That's what community looks like.

Who is a local business, maker, artist, farmer, service provider, or entrepreneur that you think more people need to know about?

Maybe they're brand new.

Maybe they've been here for 30 years.

Maybe they work out of a little shop that most people drive right past.

Maybe they don't advertise much.

Maybe they make something nobody else makes.

Maybe they aren't a Chamber Member and SHOULD BE! 😉

👇 TAG THEM.

And tell us what they do!

Let's use the power of the Floyd community to introduce people to some of the hidden gems right here in our own backyard.

🐶 Something for your four-legged friend?

Or maybe you know a local business where $25 goes a LOOOONG way.

👇 Tell us where you'd spend it!

And local businesses — jump into the comments and tell us what someone could get from YOU for $25!
