We seek to identify children who would benefit from medical treatment and the opportunity to advance their education The idea for Health & Education for Vietnamese Youth began shortly after the death of Joe Bodanza. “Mr. Joe,” as he was called, started and ran Child Medical Connection for many years until his death at age 88. Child Medical Connection’s main function was to identify Vietnamese chil

dren who had severe burn or Orthopedic problems that were untreatable in Vietnam. Joe” would sponsor the child and a family member (usually the mother) to come to the US for medical treatment at the Shriners’ hospitals. In his later years, Joe also provided many Vietnamese children with educational assistance. Joe” helped many, many hundreds of Vietnamese youth receive medical and educational assistance that was unavailable to them – Joe changed hundreds of lives. During this time, Thuy Trask, Tom Mathers and Glenn Hartmann, along with many others, were occasional volunteers with Child Medical Connection. These volunteers got together and created Health & Education for Vietnamese Youth, in part, to continue the good work of “Mr. Joe’s” Child Medical Connection.

Dear HEVY,

I'm Ben's Mom. Since I knew HEVY group, especially Mr. Glenn and Mrs. Thuy Trask and everyone in HEVY have supported and taken good care of my son during 7 years.
I would like to thank everyone in the HEVY group for all your help and support in paperwork during these years and your spirit as well as the amount of 1000usd for my son to go to Shriners Children Hawaii for treatment in the 2 months.
I am extremely grateful for all the love that everyone in the group has given to my son. He has now completed the surgery and is in the process of recovery. According to the doctor's record, hopefully in the future my child will not need any more surgeries until he grows up. It is a good thing that I cannot believe it is true that my son now has good legs.
Once again, thank you so much to everyone in the HEVY group!
I wish I can support any paperwork of visa for other children of HEVY group in the future to say thank you for all you kind help to my son!

Dear HEVY,

I'm Ben's Mom. Since I knew HEVY group, especially Mr. Glenn and Mrs. Thuy Trask and everyone in HEVY have supported and taken good care of my son during 7 years.
