This month, we recognize the families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant and honor the babies who will always hold a special place in their hearts. We also recognize the importance of compassionate support, understanding, and community during the grieving process.

We’re proud to highlight Empty Arms Bereavement Support, a fellow grantee of The Parmenter Foundation, for the meaningful work they do to support individuals and families navigating pregnancy and infant loss.

Through peer support, support groups, and helpful resources, Empty Arms reminds grieving families that they don’t have to walk this journey alone. 💗

October marks Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

This month, we are spotlighting our 2026 grantee Empty Arms Bereavement Support.

The nonprofit impactfully serves individuals and families whose babies have died through miscarriage, stillbirth, early infant death, or termination for medical reasons.

The Parmenter Foundation provided Empty Arms with an access grant to expand programming in MetroWest, ensuring local families who experience pregnancy or infant loss are met with compassion, dignity and ongoing community support at no cost through the Compassionate Perinatal Loss Care for Metrowest Families initiative.

Last month, Carol (Director) and Jen (Assistant Director) of EABS were honored to attend the 24th International Perinatal Bereavement Conference hosted by Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance (PLIDA) in New Orleans. The conference brought together professionals and advocates from around the world dedicated to improving care for families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss.

Carol also presented a pre-conference workshop, Safe Spaces for Post-Traumatic Growth: The Support Group as Community in Healing, sharing Empty Arms' expertise in creating trauma-informed support groups that foster connection, healing, and hope. 🩵
