WHO WE ARE
Transhealth is the only independent, non-profit healthcare organization in the United States devoted solely to serving trans and gender-diverse communities. MISSION
Transhealth is an independent and comprehensive healthcare center that supports and empowers trans and gender-diverse individuals and families. Throughout our history as a community, trans and gender-diverse people have look

ed to each other for healing, support, and affirmation. Transhealth honors that by serving as a source of hope and showing what good gender-affirming healthcare looks like. As a trans and gender-diverse led organization rooted in Western Massachusetts, we are expanding the healthcare possibilities for our community. Through expert care, community support, education, and advocacy, we work to secure a healthy, affirming future for all of us. VISION
We are transforming the world so that trans and gender-diverse individuals are empowered and celebrated as they work with an affirming team to own their healthcare journey.

Yesterday, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office issued a legal advisory to healthcare providers across the state. The message is clear: In Massachusetts, gender-affirming care for youth remains legal and protected.

Thank you to AG Campbell and to the entire MA AGO for being champions and defenders of our community. Every trans and gender-diverse person deserves affirming care, and we are proud to work with our state leaders who fight for this principle.

Five years ago today on May 4th, 2021, Transhealth opened our doors and welcomed the trans and gender-diverse community into our care.

Since that day five years ago, we have served over 3000 youth and adult patients and thousands of community members. We have delivered gender-affirming primary care, pediatric care, hormone therapy, mental health care, community support, education, and advocacy.

With each passing year, we have worked hard to meet the moment, building the health infrastructure and services required for trans and gender-diverse people to not just survive, but — more importantly — to thrive with compassion, community, and love.

We still have a long way to go, but together we’re getting there. And we could not have done any of it without all of you- our patients, clients, community members, and allies!

Thank you for all you have done to help make Transhealth a reality.

Here’s to many more birthdays filled with hope and joy!

We are tremendously excited to congratulate Aleyx Bernard (He/him/his) as our Hampden County Community Impact Awardee at this year’s Freedom to Be Ourselves Transhealth Benefit!

Aleyx is a 28-year-old trans man born and raised in Holyoke, MA. He creates safe spaces filled with heart and hope. Aleyx has practiced indigenous circle keeping for over 10 years, and has hosted conflict, grief, support, and celebration circles. Aleyx now focuses on creating a safe and joyful drop-in youth center at Pa'lante Transformative Justice, which is open 5 days a week and offers rich opportunities to connect, grow, and receive support. He is especially passionate about advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, nurturing chosen families beyond foster care, and tapping into the wealth of resources in his hometown of Holyoke.

Join us in awarding Aleyx for his incredible work and leadership at our Freedom to Be Ourselves Annual Benefit on Saturday, May 16th at 7:30pm at the Academy of Music in Northampton, MA. Celebrate our 5th birthday and support Transhealth’s mission of protecting and expanding access to gender-affirming care with an unforgettable evening that will illuminate the power of hope, the warmth of joy, and the courage required to live authentically.

There will be a powerful keynote, Transhealth's first ever Community Impact Awards will be given to four amazing trans leaders from each of the four counties in Western Massachusetts, and the evening will end with a conversation with Mercury Stardust (she/they).

We'll ask Mercury about her experience being invited into people’s homes and hearts as “The Trans Handy Ma’am” and as an educator, author, performance artist, fundraiser and advocate for trans rights and healthcare. We'll talk with them about where she finds joy in difficult times, how she uses creativity and craft as tools for health and wellness, why showing up for our communities is so important, and—as someone with an influential platform—what her advice is to anyone wanting to use their own voice to make a difference in the world.

We're happy to announce that they were able to give away 100 FREE tickets to their patients and to those who belong to the trans and gender-diverse community.

ACCESSIBILITY: Wheelchair accessible, ASL interpreting, mask optional. All are welcome, including kids!
