Meet Lewis Johnson, one of our Men Who Cook competitors and a returning champion! He lives in Findlay and has been a member of the YMCA for nearly 15 years.

Lewis and his wife, Sarah, have two young children. Lewis enjoys tennis at the East Branch, the Downtown Branch swimming pools, and the extensive youth programming offered by the YMCA.

Lewis has served on the YMCA’s Board of Directors for two years and previously served on the Board of the United Conservation and Outdoor Association of Hancock County.

This is Lewis’ second time cooking for Men Who Cook and he’s looking to bring home his second victory at the event.

Meet Bryan Eidt, one of our Men Who Cook contestants (pictured with celebrity chef Guy Fieri)! He’s been cooking for 11 years, since age 18, all across the United States.

Bryan holds an associate degree in Culinary Arts and is a proud Findlay High School graduate.

“I've cooked and worked with many people from around the world and have learned about the culinary traditions, cultures, and etiquettes of different countries. What brings us all together is food,” he says.

An entrepreneur, Bryan runs his own business, Sweet Ninja Treats. He makes and sells a variety of jams, old-fashioned candy, and BBQ sauces. He also enjoys making down-home comfort food, fine-dining cuisine, and cooking for clients at StoryPoint in Findlay.

He’s the proud child of Felicia Eidt and grandchild of Theodore Eidt and the late Angela Eidt.

Meet Jake Metzger, one of our Men Who Cook contestants! Jake has been the executive chef at the Findlay Country Club for almost eight years.

Born and raised in the Findlay area, he is married to his lovely wife, Bianca. They have three beautiful kids: two boys and one girl.

Jake says he loves all styles of cooking and is looking forward to putting some of those on display at this year’s Men Who Cook event.

Meet Danny Baker, one of our Men Who Cook competitors! Danny is originally from Findlay and moved back to the area with his job at Marathon Petroleum Company 10 years ago. He is a graduate of Findlay High School, Miami University, and Depaul University.

Danny and his wife, Katie, have three young children: Tyler (8), Cameron (6), and Matthew (3). They also have a chocolate lab named Duke.

Danny enjoys golf, skiing, and traveling in his free time. He also serves on the Board of Evangelism at Immanuel Lutheran Church. All the Baker children have enjoyed using the extensive youth programming offered by the YMCA and enjoy attending the Men Who Cook event.

This is Danny’s third consecutive year cooking for Men Who Cook.

We're now accepting photo submissions for our Virtual Pumpkin Decorating Contest! We'll be choosing one winner for each category - carved and no-carve. Each winner will receive ONE FREE MONTH OF Y MEMBERSHIP! Anyone who lives in Hancock County can participate, even if they're not a Y member.

To participate: From Oct. 12-23, email your photo - of you with your pumpkin - to YMCA Communications Director Joy Brown: [email protected].

Rules:
• No-carve decorators can paint, glue, wrap, or otherwise decorate creatively, even with artificial pumpkins!
• Spooky is fine, graphic is not. No blood, gore, politics, or promotion of another business.
• No photos showing a person's face other than the decorator.
• Entries must be the decorator's own work. No purchased pre-carved or pre-decorated pumpkins.
• Purchased votes, duplicate accounts, or any artificial inflation of likes will disqualify the entry.
• Submitting an entry gives the Findlay Family YMCA permission to use it on social media, the Y's website, and in printed materials.
• If there's a tie, the earliest submission wins.

How to Vote: Pumpkin pics will be posted on our page on Monday, Oct. 26. Votes can be cast from then until 12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. A like or other reaction on a photo will count as one vote. You can vote for multiple entries. Be sure to react to individual pumpkin votes, NOT the overall post! Comments, shares and likes on other posts will not count.

Winners will be announced on Friday, Oct. 30.
