City Mission of Findlay Homeless shelter City Mission has been a cornerstone of support for the hungry and homeless in Hancock County since 1934. We need you!

We’re the only crisis emergency shelter in the area serving men, women, and children by providing shelter, food, general hygiene, laundry services, transportation, a mobile health clinic, and personalized referral services. Last year alone, we served over 130,000 meals, provided 31,900 nights of lodging, and our dedicated advocates contributed 4,200 hours of help. But we can’t do it without your support.

💙Stories of Hope: A Little Comfort, A Lasting Impact

Sometimes, hope is found in the simplest things: a warm coat, a pair of shoes that fit, or a stuffed animal a child can call their own.

Recently, Crime Victim Services reached out to Transformations Thrift Store on behalf of a mother and her two children who were staying at Open Arms and needed warm clothing and coats. We were grateful for the opportunity to help provide these essentials during a difficult time for their family.

The advocates at Open Arms were so appreciative of the support that they reached out again with another referral: a mother with 4-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, who also needed assistance.

Through Transformations, both families received coats, shoes, clothing, and undergarments to help meet their immediate needs. But the support went beyond the essentials. Each child also had the opportunity to choose a stuffed animal of their very own—a small gift that brought a little extra comfort and joy during an uncertain time.

These moments are a beautiful reminder that the impact of Transformations reaches far beyond the store. Every donation, every purchase, and every act of service helps support the broader ministry of City Mission of Findlay and creates opportunities to care for individuals and families throughout our community.

Because sometimes, restoring hope begins with meeting a simple need—and reminding someone that they are not alone.
