A big thank-you to the Findlay Service League for their generous recent donation to WNL and for spending time with us to help organize our WNL Closet as part of one of their service projects! 💚

The WNL Closet helps us provide clothing and other essentials to the individuals we serve as they work toward building stable, productive lives. Support like this helps us meet practical needs while reminding our mentees that they have a community cheering them on.

The Empty Seat Beside Me continues to travel throughout our community, sparking conversations about mentorship, connection, and second chances! 🪑💚

Recently, the Empty Seat visited Reading Grounds and The Family Center in Findlay, as well as Wolph Chiropractic Wellness Center in Fostoria.

Each stop is a reminder that there are people in our community still waiting for someone to walk alongside them. Through mentorship, one connection can help change a life—and create a ripple that reaches families and the community around them.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Findlay Digital Academy online High School and CHOPIN Hall and to have some of our WNL friends join us in serving others! 💚

There’s something special about bringing people and organizations together to give back to our community. We’re thankful for everyone who showed up, shared their time, and helped make a difference.

Recently, the Empty Seat stopped at LBE Vintage, Shampoo Hair Designers, and Dell's in Fostoria, bringing our message of mentorship and second chances into more spaces throughout our community.

⭐ Staff Spotlight: Alyssa ⭐

Alyssa has been part of the WNL team for more than three years, and we’re so grateful for all she brings to our organization and the people we serve.

One of Alyssa’s favorite parts of her role is getting to interact with everyone who walks through WNL’s doors. She’s also especially proud of growing our Motivational Monday program into some of the Ohio prisons. What started with 8 mentees three years ago has grown to 51 mentees and friends receiving weekly encouragement.

Outside of WNL, Alyssa enjoys nature walks, sitting on the beach, reading, and spending time with her family.

We’re thankful to have Alyssa on our team! 💚

Our Empty Seats are out in the community at NAMI Hancock County, Tony's Restaurant & Pub, and Java's Enchanted Bean, Ltd. in Fostoria (pictured here with the lovely barista Hailey!)

Every stop is an opportunity to start a conversation and remind our community that there are people still waiting for someone to sit beside them.

We're just a few days away!

The 2026 Community Experience is coming up October 1, bringing together Ohio reentry co-laborers, returning citizens, reentry practitioners, systems-thinking leaders, and community partners for a day of connection, collaboration, and meaningful conversation.

Together, we’ll explore how we can build bridges beyond a first success story and create more opportunities for lasting success in our communities.
