Seeds That Feed

Seeds That Feed Seeds That Feed's goal is to help grow healthier communities by providing access to healthier foods, while eliminating waste.

Everyday, across communities, there exists surplus fresh produce that will end up being either tossed in the dumpster or composted unnecessarily. At the same time, there are hundreds of families who can barely afford to feed themselves, much less gain access to fresh, nutritious foods. Food insecurity, food waste, barriers to healthy eating, and ultimately a misallocation of resources, are problem

s that are present in nearly every community. Seeds That Feed was created to help bridge these gaps and grow a healthier community through our efforts.

Another great year of getting veggies to George Elementary. We are beyond grateful to the teachers who are the ones to make sure students and their families have access in the pick up lines every time we deliver.

Thank you! 🌎💚

Shoutout to Seeds That Feed for supporting our FREE food fridge 🥕🍅

Their donation of a fridge ensures our families have access to healthy options, and their contributions of fresh fruits and veggies make a world of difference. We couldn’t do it without their support! 🌱

We are so proud of our long standing partnership with the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks and how many folks we’ve been able to give those fresh veggies to ☺️

The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is one of just 26 gardens selected for the 2024 Urban Agriculture Resilience Program. The funding will go towards programming geared towards children.

Little Sprouts, Big Impact! 🌱

The U.S. Botanic Garden and American Public Gardens Association have awarded support to 26 public gardens & their community partners engaging in urban agriculture, food-growing, and related education work - including the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in collaboration with Seeds That Feed! 👏

With this award, we are enhancing our Little Sprouts Garden beds, which are used to teach kids the plant lifecycle from seed to harvest. The produce grown will be collected and redistributed by Seeds That Feed to those who are food insecure in our local community! ❤️

🥕 "My favorite part of volunteering at BGO is working in the Vegetable & Herb Garden and talking to the visitors! I am motivated to stay involved by the growth and improvement that I see in the Garden after we clawed our way out of the pandemic shutdown. It just keeps getting better!" - Susan Esche

🌱 We are about to install more of the raised beds that we use in this garden nearby in the "Little Sprouts Garden." These beds will 1) enable our education department to teach the next generation healthy habits and 2) double the amount of produce we can donate to Seeds That Feed, a local organization fighting food insecurity!

👋 If you would like to learn more about how to be involved, we invite you to attend our upcoming Volunteer Orientation & Recruitment event on Saturday, February 24 from 10 to 11:30 am.

🌳 Attendees will get an insightful look into the various volunteer opportunities available at the Garden, including education, sustainability, gardening, hospitality, community outreach, and more. The event will conclude with a guided tour of the Garden.

Register at bgozarks.org. For more information, please contact Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gaskin at [email protected].
