Dare to create a more perfect union. The ACLU of North Dakota is part of a three-state chapter that also includes South Dakota and Wyoming.

Since 1971, our team has been working in communities across the state of North Dakota to defend the civil rights and civil liberties of you, your neighbors, and your family through litigation, education, and community engagement. The team in North Dakota is supported by staff in those states. Social Media Policy

As an organization dedicated to protecting civil liberties, we welcome dialogue and encourage free speech

Planning to vote on Tuesday? Know your rights:

🗳️If you’re in line or inside your polling place when the polls close, you still have the right to vote.
📋 If there’s an issue with your ID or you do not have one when you go to the polls, you’re entitled to request a set-aside ballot
❌ If you make a mistake on your ballot, you have the right to ask for a new one.
🚫You have the right to vote free from intimidation.
♿ Voters with disabilities have the right to accessible polling locations.
