Kids at school and around the community don't all have the luxury of owning books at home. Many only have the chance to read while at school.

This broke my heart and now it is my mission to make sure every child has a book over holiday break!

Imagine this reality: some kids in our community do not have books in their homes. Our mission is to change that and get books into the hands of every child who needs them! Let's promote literacy and spread the love of reading in our region! We are accepting donations of new books for ANY age child.

We are so grateful to Simon & Schuster's Children's Division for their generous book donations. Our goal is a minimum of 1,000 books this year - can you help us reach it? We are accepting new books for every age.

Colder air will bring holiday wishes! It’s time again to think about all the families with children needing their own book to share with one another and keep forever. Please help by considering donating to Lyd’s Kids: Every Child Deserves a Book. Here’s a wishlist on Amazon with ideas. Desperately in need of books for ages infant to 18. Also, Barnes and Noble will be supporting as well- so if you are in Fargo doing your holiday shopping, stop in and you can donate that way as well.
