The Outdoor Adventure Foundation is so grateful to the people of Rose Union Baptist Church, Piney River, Virginia, for putting on the Wild Beast Feast fundraising banquet and donating the proceeds of the event to the Outdoor Adventure Foundation! Special thanks to Tom Saunders of Saunders Brothers, Inc., for all of his hard work, with the help of so many others, including auctioneer Johnny Hill. Tom saw an episode of Dream Makers featuring recipients of the Outdoor Adventure Foundation on amazing hunting and fishing trips and advocated for Wild Beast Feast Proceeds being donated to the OAF. Some of those proceeds will be going toward a Virginia OAF recipient Sawyer Harris, of Roanoke, VA, on his dream hunt for a bull elk in Colorado! Sawyer suffers from Neurofibromatosis, Type II, which causes tumors to develop in his brain and other places throughout his body. Thank you Rose Union Baptist Church and everyone that donated at the Wild Beast Feast for helping make big outdoor dreams come true, like this one for Sawyer Harris! Please visit the OAF website to see how you might be able to help make some big outdoor dreams come true for a young person suffering from a serious illness or disability or an injured veteran. https://outdooradventurefoundation.org/

Check out the video of U.S. Army veteran of the war in Afghanistan, Jack Zimmerman, getting his fantastic velvet bull elk! Jack harvested this huge bull elk at the Border View Elk Ranch preserve, Hansboro, ND, with the help of owner Chad Lawler (BorderViewElkRanch.com)
Jack was injured in Afghanistan when he stepped on an IED while on patrol. He lost both legs that day and went through over 20 surgeries to get him to where he is today, but his injuries do not prevent him from doing the things he loves. And Jack loves to hunt!
Jack is an inspirational motivational speaker and has authored two books about his experiences in combat and his road to recovery. Learn more about his story at JackZimmerman.com
The Outdoor Adventure Foundation is honored to provide this trophy bull elk hunt for such an inspirational man!

Congratulations to Outdoor Adventure Foundation recipient Brady Feist on this giant velvet bull elk that he harvested Saturday evening! Brady was accompanied by his father, Jamie Fiest, owner of 'Nature's Reflections Taxidermy, who will be doing a shoulder mount of the trophy. The OAF elk tag is good for any elk, any season (including the current elk crop depredation season) and any legal weapon. Special thanks to Logan Kostelecky for coaching Brady throughout this fantastic adventure, and to Andy Knebel for excellent scouting! You’d never know by looking at him, but Brady has been dealing with a life-threatening and extremely rare cancer. He is one of only 16 people diagnosed with his form of cancer, and he is one of only two survivors. He is recovering now, and he doesn’t let any of his health issues keep him from doing the things he loves. He says this is his ultimate dream hunt!
Thanks to everyone who helped make this trip possible. It takes all of the help of our supporters and donors to help us make big outdoor dreams like this one come true. And no one is more deserving of a big adventure like this one than Brady Feist.

We're looking for a taxidermist to do a bear rug. We have lots of taxidermists helping us out, but we don't want to ask more of them, so we're asking for any new taxidermists to the Outdoor Adventure Foundation to help us out. Please contact us at 701-361-1888 if you are a taxidermist interested in helping us out with a bear rug for this young hunter.

The Outdoor Adventure Foundation thanks the Horace Lions Club for this very generous donation of $10,000! Not only is this a big check, but it's a very BIG CHECK! This check will go to good use providing big outdoor adventures for young people going through difficult times as well as injured veterans that have sacrificed for our country. All of us who love the outdoors know how expensive hunting and fishing trips can be so this donation is very much appreciated! If you know a young person, 25-years or younger, going through a serious illness or disability, or a veteran that was injured on duty, please nominate them for an adventure! We know many veterans will not ask for anything for themselves, but we want to show our appreciation by showing them a good time in the outdoors. Visit our website and fill out the online application form or call 701-361-1888 to help us connect with a deserving recipient. https://outdooradventurefoundation.org/contact-us/

These Outdoor Adventure Foundation recipients had a fantastic weekend of fishing hosted by Lance Trihub and his wife Lisa Gates Trihub at Brendles Bay Resort* on the Van Hook Arm of Lake Sakakawea this past weekend. All of these recipients have gone through some tough times with health issues and some of them have conditions that have no cure. Most of our trips, like this one, include family members or a friend as participants, because they deserve a break from their troubles too! Lance led a team of boat captains including; Adam Hotz, of 'Hot Bite Fishing', John Morman, Nathan Kraft, and Mike and Laune Schafer, while Lisa handled all of the shore support for the weekend. Many of the neighbors in the Brendles Bay community came together to help make the weekend a success including Judd Thorlaksen, with food from The Food Barn in Powers Lake. The true highlight of the trip was the fresh walleye prepared by Lance! Some of the kids even got a chance to ride a tube behind Adam's boat! Trips like this one cannot happen without people like this group coming together, and also without great donors and supporters of the Outdoor Adventure Foundation throughout the year. Check out our website to see how you might be able to contribute to help make big outdoor dreams come true. https://outdooradventurefoundation.org/

What a great weekend for these recipients! Sportsman's Lodge is top notch!
