Once again the Blu Water Bash Shop For A Cause event was a success for Edith Sanford Breast Center in Fargo. In just one day in September nearly $8,000 was raised in a silent auction and generous donations from the businesses of Blu Water Creek! Thank you to leela & lavender for organizing this event.

Congratulations to Joan on her 1st Guardian Angel award! 🎉
This special note was included in Joan's Guardian Angel nomination:
"Joan, who is at hand surgery occupational therapy, was instrumental in my recovery. While everyone at hand surgery was excellent, Joan had a way of keeping me on track, even when I felt the odds were against me. I thought that I would lose full use of my hand but she was constantly upbeat and continued to stress that full recovery was possible. Each week things would get better than the week before until one day she was able to help me fully flex and extend. I now have full range of motion like I had before my injury. Thank you, Joan, for believing in me, even when I did not believe at all."

The Skippin & Sippin PHun Walk put on by Lakes Area Parrot Heads was a HUGE success last Saturday! They had over 130 walkers come out and support our local breast cancer walk. Proceeds benefit local patients at the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer at locations in Fargo and Perham. They raised over $10,000!

While thousands of kids in our communities have gone back to school, for pediatric patients facing a serious illness or ongoing treatment, school can feel like a world away.

Thanks to generosity, hospital teachers Lynsey Kjos and Hope Stromsodt help kids continue learning so they can remain in their current grade and feel prepared for a successful return to the classroom.

"I have the privilege of helping students stay connected to learning during an unexpected chapter in their lives," says Lynsey. "I love giving students one-on-one support that builds their confidence and keeps them connected to learning."

This year's All-Staff Retreat brought our team together to learn, connect and collaborate. Through Myers-Briggs personality training, peer-led breakout discussions, shared conversations over a meal, and a hands-on donor relationship game, we gained new insights and strengthened the relationships that help drive our mission forward.
