Come join us Sunday, March 8th for a celebration of International Women’s Day and especially honoring Krissy Block, who lost her battle with breast cancer last August. Lots of fun drinks and activities with proceeds going directly to us!! We would love to see you all there🌸
Beer for a good cause just tastes better.
We’re celebrating International Women’s Day the Drekker way: by coming together in the taproom, sharing a beer and honoring the killer women who help make this place what it is.
But this year’s Women’s Day Brew hits a little different. Last August, our own Krissy Block lost her battle with breast cancer. Krissy was one of Drekker’s first employees and spent more than a decade doing just about everything, most notably running the canning line and keeping a watchful eye on quality control. She loved beer, writing, her husband and fur babies, vinyl records and trail mix (aka Gorp), which is exactly where the inspiration for this year’s brew came from.
Straight Cheesin’, a trail mix sour brewed by the women of Drekker, will be pouring all day — and moving forward, each International Women’s Day Brew will honor Krissy and the impact she made on this place. On March 8, and throughout the rest of March, we’ll donate $1 from every pint of Straight Cheesin’ sold and $4 from every 4-pack sold in the taproom to Pink Plaid, whose mission is to raise money for individuals battling breast cancer in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Our friends from Pink Plaid will be set up in the taproom sharing more about their work, and we’ll also have specialty Sloosh and Eye Scream, a record swap (for the vinyl-loving queen herself), and a make-and-take tote bag station with live screen printing and custom goodies from Unglued, with all tote and screen printing proceeds donated as well.
This day is for everyone. More than anything, we want it to feel like a day full of connection, warmth and community, because that’s exactly what Krissy brought to Drekker.
