📸Volunteers Needed!

We have our fist opportunity of the school year to help out at FIS. We need adults to assist with picture day on Tuesday, September 15 - helping direct classes to their cameras, waiting with classes to help keep the chaos to a minimum, and helping to keep the lines moving calmly and quickly. 🗓 As you are updating the family calendar for this school year, don't forget to add our monthly FIS PTO meetings. 3rd Tuesday of the month @ 3:30, starting in September. 🗓

Logistics: There will be parking available in the main lot (it's easier to get in after 3:20 or so). If your student is a bus rider and you don't want them to get dropped off to an empty house, you can have them wait and meet you at the meeting. Car riders and walkers are welcome, too, of course. There is usually a table of kids getting a head start on homework 😉 while we meet. And we try to be finished by 4:00!

🎒Can't escape it - the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year is just around the corner! We're planning our table for the FIS Open House on Thursday, August 13 from 5:30-7:00. We will be joined by a handful of other community groups - the library, scouts, military family support, etc.

Do you know of a community organization to add to the list of tables? Let us know who and how to reach out to them!

When we host a fundraiser - selling items, scooping ice cream at Jubie's, eating on designated nights at local restaurants - it's so we can help our FIS students have experiences like these without burdening families with the whole cost.

Many hands make light work - many contributions help cover costs!

There will *not* be a meeting tomorrow, May 19th as we do not have any items on the agenda.

Our new board is already thinking about new opportunities for next year - we'll share announcements here as plans are finalized!

The recorders for 4th grade is a funding example where PTO funds weren't able to cover the entire cost alone. So between parent contribution and bulk pricing, PTO was able to carry the project over the finish line for our FIS students and music program. 🎼

Yes, Teacher Grants allow us to help our FIS teachers purchase items for their classrooms not covered by other budgets.
