The missionaries who are supported through BFM do not spend months, or even years, and thousands of dollars raising their own support funds by personal deputation. Their sending churches ask the Directors of BFM to examine their missionary ac

cording to a mutually-accepted Statement of Beliefs and Practices. If the missionary is approved for support, he goes immediately to the field of service where the Lord has called and the church has sent him – AS THE LORD SUPPLIES THE FUNDS THROUGH OUR FAITHFUL CONTRIBUTORS. “God has never failed to provide for our missionaries – but He has always provided through the offerings of our missionaries’ friends.”

30+ years ago, this article written by John A. Hatcher honored the incredible dedication of several BFM missionary wives—true heroes of the faith whose unwavering commitment, resilience, and sacrifices shaped communities around the world.

This weekend, as we have celebrated Mother's Day, we recognize their strength not just as partners in mission but as mothers, mentors, and beacons of Christ's love. Their legacy lives on in the hearts they touched and the generations they nurtured. Happy Mother’s Day to all who carry that spirit forward!

"Mothers in Israel" {Judges 5:7} During this month, pray for our missionary-wives! 💗

🌷 Deborah, the judge, called herself "a mother in Israel". She was not referring to her biological children because we don't have written record, at least, that she and Lapidoth had any biological children. But, she was "a mother in Israel" because of the spiritual leadership and nurturing she demonstrated during this time of spiritual declension. She provided the leadership of conviction, moral courage, and inspiration to trust and obey God--and she influenced and strengthened many.

🌷 So have our missionary-wives who have as faithfully and valiantly served with their husbands to be mothers, not only to their only children and families, but to countless others also.

🌷 In keeping with the Mother's Day tradition observed in the United States on the second Sunday in May, we want to recognize and honor our beloved missionary-wives. We lift them up to the throne of grace and rise up with their husbands and children to bless them! {Proverbs 31:10-31}

ANNOUNCING NEW MISSIONARIES: Welcome Daniel & Kendle Akers to our BFM family!

We’re excited to announce that the Akers Family from Heritage Baptist Church will be heading to Montreal, Canada, to help plant churches and share the Gospel in one of North America’s most unreached cities.

After five years of faithful service in Lexington, Kentucky, God has called this family to a new chapter, partnering with Baptist Faith Missions to reach people in a place where less than 0.7% of the population claims to be Christian. Please pray for this family as they prepare to go and for God to use them for His glory.

“Once more—the resurrection of Christ is operating at this present time with a quickening power on all who hear the word aright. The sun is, to the vegetable world, a great source of growth. In this month of April he goes forth with life in his beams and we see the result.

The buds are bursting, the trees are putting on their summer dress, the flowers are smiling and even the seeds which we buried in the earth are beginning to feel the vivifying warmth. They see not the Lord of day but they feel his smile. Over what an enormous territory is the returning sun continually operating! How potent are his forces when he crosses the line and lengthens the day!

Such is the risen Christ. In the grave he was like the sun in his winter solstice but he crossed the line in his resurrection. He has brought us all the hopes of spring and is bringing us the joys of summer. He is quickening many at this hour and will yet quicken myriads.

This is the power with which the missionary goes forth to sow; this is the power in which the preacher at home continues to scatter the seed.

The risen Christ is the great producer of harvests. By the power of his resurrection men are raised from their death in sin to eternal life."

Please join us in prayer this week for our missionary to Brazil, Bobby Wacaser, as he heads out on a special mission to the Amazon.

In the coming days, Bobby will travel with an evangelistic team by riverboat from village to village to help inaugurate a new church. Along the way, they’ll be sharing the gospel in homes and public spaces—many in places where people have never heard the Good News of Jesus Christ. During the journey, the team will sleep in hammocks aboard the boat and face the physical challenges of travel in a remote region. 🛶

Please pray for Bobby’s health and safety, but most of all that God would powerfully use this outreach to bring many people to faith in Christ. We look forward to hearing his stories of how the Lord worked!

Last month marked 60 years since Mike Creiglow first surrendered to God’s call to Gospel ministry, and his latest mission trip shows that the urgency of that calling is as strong as ever.

A few highlights from his latest letter:
🛶 A challenging river journey to Foz do Breu and Tipisca, Peru with tight spaces, a couple of fuel hiccups, and God’s steady protection.
↗ The rise of young leaders like Rondisson, Carlos, Jordan, and Cosma, stepping into ministry and preparing to carry the work forward.
🙌🏽 A powerful service in Foz do Breu with 80+ attending, five requesting baptism, five youth confessing sin, and one new believer trusting Christ.
🌱 Growing reach among the Ashaninka people.
🌐A new tool—Starlink Mini—making communication possible even deep in the rainforest.

🌍 Mission Update from France ✝️🇫🇷
In their most recent update, John & Judy share how God is moving across nations through prayer and Bible study:
❤ Their hearts were burdened for the people of Iran who are suffering under oppression and in desperate need of Christ. A recent Bible study included believers who escaped Iran decades ago, and together they lifted up prayers for those still living under hardship.
📖 On Saturdays, they study God's Word with a woman who is originally from Albania. She was once misled by false teaching but is now firmly rooted in Christ. Her testimony is a reminder of God’s power to redeem and restore!
📖 Online Bible Studies frequently connect them with believers in southern Germany, where Holocaust memorials stand as sobering reminders of human brokenness. These gatherings highlight the hope of the Gospel in a world of “wars and rumors of war.”
🔎 Their recent focus has been the salvation of Saul/Paul, who declared, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.” (1 Tim. 1:15)
🙏 Prayer Request: That Christ’s light will shine through John & Judy’s ministry in France, touching lives across borders.
🙌🏻 Praise: Praise God for turning hearts to Christ despite past oppression, false teaching, and suffering.

Pray with us that God would be pleased to bless all the seeds that have been planted through evangelistic opportunities and programs this Christmas season. These pictures are from the Christmas program at a church in Brazil planted by Jud Hatcher. 🇧🇷

“The entire church—young and old alike—is joyfully involved in rehearsals, recordings, painting, and artistic production. It’s such a blessing to see everyone’s gifts come together for the glory of God.

We are preparing to welcome between 800 and 1,000 guests during the two presentation nights. Please pray that every heart that attends will be touched by the Gospel and that many will come to know Christ through this outreach.”
