FAA is pleased to welcome MaryBeth Karaus, Oil Painters of America (OPA) member, as our guest demo artist at the September 1 meeting.

“A painting can be an oasis of peace and give nourishment to the soul in an otherwise tumultuous and chaotic world.” – MaryBeth Karaus

In her floral still lifes, MaryBeth is fascinated by capturing the fleeting beauty that painting from life offers. In all her work, composition remains at the core of her aesthetic.

Doors open at 5:30 pm- 6:30 pm for the art sale and the details are in the newsletter.

Announcements and demo begin at 7:00 pm and we hope you can join us.

Awards for the Miamisburg Art gallery were announced this afternoon.
Tom Kinarney 2nd place Drawing “In the Woods II”
Tessa Kalman 1st place water media “Sunset and Steel”
Dave Schneberger 2nd place water media “Winter Solstice”
Rose Schultz 1st place Mixed media “Spring Sentinels”

Congratulations to all who entered. Fairborn Art Association had 31 entries out of 130 accepted, 168 were submitted. First, second, third and honorable mention in each of 5 categories. In addition there were three special awards.

The acceptance list for the 2026 Miamisburg Art gallery show has been posted. Looks like they accepted the limit of 138. I counted 25 pieces from Fairborn Art Association members including
Shirlee Bauer(3), Billie Dickson (2), Carol Edsall (2),Connie Gifford (2), Tessa Kalman (2), Tom Kinarney (3), Barb Olekas (2), Dave Schneberger (3), Rose Schulz (3), Frank Trick (2), Connie Weber (1).

Congratulations to all. I apologize if I missed anyone in our group (still learning everyone’s name. Let me know if I overlooked anyone.

Show opens next Saturday August 15, at 2:00 to 4:00 pm awards at 3:00.

🎨 **The Mika Wilkerson Show** visits the **Fairborn Art Association...

Fairborn Art Association will be featured on the Mika Wilkerson Show on DATV TONIGHT, Tuesday, August 4 at 7:00 PM!

There will be a second episode (because there were a lot of great things to talk about) next Tuesday, August 11 at 7:00 PM. This will include information about the Fairborn Sweetcorn Festival just before it occurs on August 15 and 16.

Part One will be airing tonight at 7:00. PM!

If by chance a live show is airing, Mika's show will air immediately after. That is as far as airing on TV goes.

Starting August 1, 2026 I will have artwork on display at the Art Encounters space at Front Street. I will generally be on site for First Friday art hops and some Saturday’s. I plan to post on Facebook for the days and times that I will be present.
In any case I am excited to be able to have my work on display and look forward to seeing you at some of these events.
