We want to thank Our Times Newspaper for visiting and covering our event today. Our Times is a local, Black owned newspaper focused on community engagement and reporting news with honesty and integrity.

Their interview with us felt like real, old school journalism. They asked thoughtful questions that got to the heart of the issue we were highlighting. We hope this helps more people in the tristate learn about our weekly events AND about Our Times!

They’ve been around for decades and we deeply appreciate their work. We’d love to see them get even more support and hope you’ll check them out.

Their full article about Jane Doe and our events is here: https://ourtimesnews.org/2026/10/11/we-are-jane-doe-evansville-demonstrators-join-national-movement/

Our events today center the experiences of Black, Brown and Indigenous people.

First, an intimate discussion of sexual violence (and its erasure) through the lens of BIPoC perspectives. Then, a movie and Q&A about Palestinian history. See you there!

So many of you stood up for survivors with us yesterday (thank you!!), we barely even noticed those who weirdly took issue with it.

We’re not done yet. Tomorrow at 10, we’re hosting a BIPoC led discussion about sexual violence from BIPoC perspectives. This will be an intimate conversation without press in the large meeting room at Central Library.

Sunday at 2, we’re hosting a free community rally to stand with survivors. We’ll have:

• a drum and music circle (bring stuff to bang on, shake, rattle, strum, whatever)

• community poetry, stories & music (let us know if you’d like to share yours!)

• various arts and crafts (rock painting, love letters to the world, drawing & coloring, etc)

• rage release & healing activities

• a march and demonstration to support all survivors & speak out about sexual violence (we’ll have supplies to make signs if you don’t have one but please BYO if you do!)

As always, we’ll have a small food pantry, clothing and book swap, hygiene supplies, narcan & other resources. We gratefully accept donations for our weekly pantry!

Thank you all SO much for standing with us. Please spread the word - we’ll see you in the streets!

We stand with Jane Doe, Kendall Francis, Epstein survivors, and every survivor whose pain has been dismissed.

We need accountability. We need r**e crisis centers, support for student survivors, and laws that protect our rights. We need schools, workplaces, and governments to stop shielding abusers.

Survivors deserve care, justice, and room to heal. We all deserve to live without fear of sexual violence.

I am Jane Doe. We are Jane Doe.
