The artwork from our recent Palestinian art exhibition by Tasneem Sultan tells stories that reflect Palestinian identity, heritage, resilience, and resistance.
The Poppy, Palestine’s national flower, mirrors the colors of the Palestinian flag and stands as a powerful symbol of the Palestinian people’s resilience. The vivid red evokes the sacrifices made by those who have struggled for freedom.

Olive trees, a cornerstone of Palestinian agriculture, represent a deep and rooted connection to the land and enduring resilience and resistance in the face of occupation.

The keffiyeh, a traditional black-and-white checkered headscarf, is a powerful symbol of Palestinian identity and culture. Today, it has also taken on global significance, worn by individuals and activists as a symbol of solidarity with Palestine.

Tatreez art piece mirrors the visual story of resilience and faith. A Palestinian woman wearing a traditional Bethlehem tatreez-embroidered thobe, a dress that captures the beauty and deep cultural heritage of Palestine. The key in her earring represents the “Right of Return” to their homeland.

Repost from 78 years ago, armed militant groups massacred Palestinian families and forced nearly 75% of the Palestinian population out of their homes in order to found the state of Israel on their land. Palestinians call this the Nakba, Arabic for the “catastrophe.”
Since 1948, Israel has continued to commit horrific acts of violence in order to force Palestinians out of their homes and off their land. That’s why Palestinians acknowledge the Nakba as an ongoing atrocity.

This past Sunday, the Evansville community came together in a powerful act of solidarity and compassion during the LET GAZA LIVE letter and postcard writing campaign. Friends and allies gathered to write sincere messages to our elected officials, Sen.Young & Treasurer Elliott, urging them to take action to relieve the suffering in Gaza and to stand up for their dignity and rights.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and took the time to write!
