Southwestern Indiana Master Gardeners Association (SWIMGA) is a group of trained volunteers who participate in a wide variety of community gardening projects.

SWIMGA is administered through Purdue University and its Extension Services.

Garden Royalty 2027: Tulips & Rhododendrons in the Netherlands & the United Kingdom

Travel with fellow Master Gardeners from across the U.S. to experience stunning spring blooms, world-renowned gardens, and the rich history of tulips and rhododendrons.

This program is only open to Master Gardener volunteers and their guests.

We are looking forward to our last public event of the year, our Fall Open House on Saturday, November 7! With these warm days, we will likely still have some beautiful tree color, and we are excited to feature some of our great partners in the community. Plan to join us to discover native plants, bugs, art, local honey, and more fun in the fall at the Arboretum!

Good Ol’Stink Bugs

Indiana didn't confirm its first brown marmorated stink bug until 2010. Today, this invasive pest is distributed statewide and is a familiar fall nuisance around homes. As temperatures drop, they look for sheltered places to spend the winter, which can mean squeezing into cracks and crevices around your house. Native American Days at
Angel Mounds on 9/25/26!
Many Master Gardeners were there teaching and explaining how the Native Americans used things back in the day and probably still do!

This year, as of July 27th, the Master Gardeners Display Gardens Vegetable Garden, harvested 231 lbs of vegetables with 161 lbs being tomatoes! All of these vegetables went to food banks here in the
Tri-State!! 🌽🥕🥒🍅🫑
