Want to know what makes a short story work? Read twenty of them with a scoring sheet in hand. 📖

We're looking for volunteer readers for the Cai Emmons Short Fiction Contest. You'll read about twenty stories in the first two weeks of January, score them against a provided rubric, and help decide which ones reach final judge Debra Gwartney.

It’ll take about ten hours, all virtual, on your own schedule.

You don't even have to write short fiction. Just be a careful reader.

One catch—judges can't enter, and entrants can't judge.
