We're obviously biased, but we just love the versatility of this breed!

Happy World Collie Day from CCR! Over the weekend we welcomed Jenny into our foster program. Jenny is a 7-yr sable rough female whose original owner is in hospice care. She's so sweet but hasn't been exposed to a lot of things. We're taking it slow and giving her time to settle in and then will be working on building her confidence. She will also need to be spayed. Watch for updates on this lovely lady!

If you're interested in adopting, please complete an application on our website. Donations to support the care of collies in need are gratefully accepted via PayPal, Venmo, or can be mailed to our PO Box.

Adoption news!! We're so happy to share that another one of the collies we took in from Elko, Nevada has found her perfect match! This smart and spunky girl will be living in Seattle. Her new owner is already signed up for training classes with her and looks forward to playing lots of brain games.

We're very grateful to her wonderful foster for helping her learn important life skills over the past couple months and giving her a solid foundation. Fosters make our work possible! 💕

Best News Ever: Cooper is HOME! 💕 He gets to finish recovering from his dental procedure with his new loving family. He'll be living in the Salem area with three kitty "siblings" and all the couch snuggles his heart desires. He may even get to visit his new mom's classroom!

Cooper went through so much over the past three months: from losing his owner and ending up in the shelter, getting neutered, then enduring treatment for his infected skin, eyes, and ears, to major surgery to address the draining wound on his hind leg, and then finally a dental with *nine* extractions! We're so glad we could be there to take care of his needs, but we're sure he'll appreciate finally getting to settle into a routine that isn't filled with quite so many vet visits. We love a happy ending!

Many thanks to the teams at
Oregon Veterinary Referral Associates, and
for caring for sweet Cooper, and to everyone who donated to support his care. It takes a village!

Dental day for Cooper! Our boy is getting the best of the best with the talented team at . We know they'll fix up his mouth and take care of his damaged and worn teeth. Today's procedure is the last big step to get him ready to be adopted.

It's been a long road to get this guy healthy - he's seen SIX different veterinary specialists in the two months he's been in foster with us. We're able to provide this level of care because of the generous support we receive from donors like you. Every gift helps us step up for collies in need. Donations can be made via our website or mailed to our PO Box. Thank you for helping us help collies like Cooper!

We're thrilled to share that another of the Nevada hoarding case collies has found her forever home with her foster! Sweet Lacey - now known as Lucy - quickly made herself a part of the family, and they just couldn't part with her. She'll be living in the Portland area with a collie brother and loving family, and enjoying many camping trips and other adventures! Thanks to her fosters for stepping up to care for a collie in need! 💜

Cooper update, for his many fans! ❤️‍🩹We got all his test results and we're happy to report the biopsy came back negative - no evidence of cancer!

The mass and draining tracts the surgeon removed did show evidence of a bacterial infection that has likely been there for quite some time. He is recovering well from the surgery and has his next recheck on Tuesday. He's still in "cone jail" and on restricted activity until his sutures come out, but he got to enjoy some basking in the warm sunshine today. 🌞

Next step for Cooper will be a dental to address his worn and damaged teeth. He will likely need multiple extractions. We are so grateful to everyone who has contributed to his care so far, but this will be another expensive procedure. Please chip in if you can. 🐾

Thank you for following his journey. He'll be available for adoption soon! ♥

Three collies adopted in one day! Yesterday Dazzle, who came to us after being adopted from and then returned to the shelter in Roseburg, went to her new home after spending some time settling into foster so we could get to know her. And, as predicted, the puppies we received from the hoarding case in Elko, NV were both adopted by CCR fosters. We're thrilled for all three of these girls and their new families!

The three adults we took in from Elko are still in their evaluation period, and Cooper is still recovering from surgery. Watch for updates on all of them soon!

We're so grateful for all the donations toward Cooper's medical care. His surgery yesterday was more extensive than originally expected. He's recovering now and has multiple follow-up appointments over the next couple of weeks. We will have pathology results sometime in the next 10 days, and that will determine next steps for him. We're also consulting with a specialist in veterinary dentistry about options to address his teeth. Your support allows us to provide him with the care he needs. Please keep sharing!
