School is Back in Session! A new school year can mean new nerves for young students. Join us for a free community educational presentation at House of Prayer Lutheran Church this Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. We will share practical ways to help children manage school stress and build confidence for a successful school year.

All are welcome! Pizza and childcare will be provided. We hope to see you there!

Making Waves! Last week, Interfaith was honored at the San Diego Wave FC game as Kaiser Permanente’s Community Health Champion! Kaiser Permanente is a founding partner and the official health care partner of the soccer team. At each home game, Kaiser Permanente selects a local organization to be recognized for their crucial work in the community.

Our Turk Recuperative Care staff each received a team jersey, and everyone from Interfaith was introduced to the entire Snap Dragon Stadium audience. Thank you, Kaiser Permanente, for your support in our organization!

Our Summer of Service: Kids Edition program has officially wrapped! Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to serve meals, pack snack packs, portion food essentials, organize the pantry, and uplift the community. We had over 200 families contribute 487 hours of service this season.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to boys team charity, Del Norte San Diego League, the Poway Chapter NCL, Inc., and Ncl Del Sol chapter of National Charity League, as well as City SC San Marcos, whose members have dedicated their summer to supporting our community and the people we serve.

Winterfaith in August! It's that time of year already! Interfaith is gearing up for our annual Holiday Sponsor a Family program. With the success of last year's event, we're excited to share that we'll be continuing our festive Winterfaith shopping mall on Friday, December 4th, and Saturday, December 5th, where Interfaith clients and their case managers are invited to select gifts for their families.

We’re looking for compassionate elves! Whether you volunteer for the event or donate gifts to the shopping mall, your support will bring holiday joy to someone in need.

We'd like to give a heartfelt thanks to Mission Hills United Church of Christ for their generous $50,000 donation to our Family Shelter. Their support will go toward providing families with the essentials they need as they rebuild their lives and move toward a stable future.

Last week, we had the privilege of showing Mission Hills UCC parishioners Geri Mu and her daughter Jennifer around our family shelter, giving them a firsthand look at the lives their generosity is changing.

Backpack Give Back! Yesterday, Interfaith held our annual back-to-school event! Intuit generously provided 200 backpacks filled with essential supplies. Over 30 families attended the exciting event, which featured a pencil bag decorating station, colorful backpacks for the kids to personally choose, an additional back-to-school supplies table, and food boxes for the whole family. All leftover backpacks will be distributed to case-managed Interfaith clients over the next two weeks as the new academic year begins. The YMCA of San Diego County was also in attendance to connect parents with additional programs and resources!

Together, Change Happens! Earlier today, Interfaith and Neighborhood Healthcare partnered to host our 5th Annual Community Healthcare Day, a free event at our Escondido Headquarters that connects people with essential, on-the-spot resources.

In collaboration with several local nonprofits, the event welcomed over 300 community members and provided a range of essential items and services, including showers, haircuts, dental screenings, food, dog essentials, medical check-ups, and more.

Thank you to all our partners who showed up to support our neighbors in need, especially Outreach Impacting Lives for their freshly made breakfast burritos and the over 150 backpacks they filled with hygiene items and snacks, as well as Stay Fresh Barber Academy for stepping in at the last minute so our community could get the haircuts they needed!

How You Can Help This Week! We are in need of cereal, jelly, and hygiene products, as well as brand new pillows for our Make It a Home program, which provides household items to individuals and families moving into their new homes.

Healing through Community! Interfaith is proudly partnering with Neighborhood Healthcare once again for the annual Community Healthcare Day! Join us Tuesday, August 4th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Interfaith’s 550 W. Washington Ave headquarters in Escondido.

Through collaborations with local organizations, this event will provide vital resources and services to our neighbors experiencing homelessness, including showers, haircuts, pet supplies and healthcare, human trafficking support, birth certificate assistance and ID vouchers, and so much more.

Help spread the word to make an impact on our neighbors!
