🐾 Meet Dalu ❤️ | 6-Year-Old Pug

There are some dogs who come into my life and make me wonder how they ever survived what they’ve been through. Dalu is one of those dogs. 💔

TLC K9 Rescue took this beautiful girl in after her owner was finished breeding her. She was used to give birth multiple times so her owner could profit from her labor.
Her little body was expected to keep producing, and honestly, I don’t know how she survived it. 💔

No, I know how she survived..
God was watching over her because He has a plan for Dalu 🙏🏻
Dalu, is something special and whoever helps us by fostering her will be blessed ❤️

I admire this beautiful girl so much because after everything she has endured, she hasn't lost her faith in people.
She hasn't lost her ability to love ❤️
She is affectionate, playful, and ready to finally experience what it feels like to simply be a loved dog 🐕
Dalu does well with submissive dogs and enjoys having a playful friend, but you will need to feed her separately. This all stems from never having enough food to eat. Poor baby was always starving 😢

Note: she isn't a big fan of cats 🐱

She has already been vetted, vaccinated, and dewormed, and we ran a 4DX test and full blood panel to make sure we understood her health needs. Thankfully, everything came back within normal ranges. 🙌

Now we just need to find Dalu what she has been waiting for all along — a safe foster home or, even better, a family of her own. 🏡❤️

Dalu still needs a little more vetting.
She needs to be spayed, hernia repar and a dental, and TLC K9 Rescue will absolutely continue and complete all of her veterinary care. She will not be left without the care she needs.

After spending years being valued only for what she could produce, Dalu deserves to finally know that her value has nothing to do with puppies.

She deserves to be loved simply because she is Dalu. ❤️🐾

If you can open your home and heart to this sweet girl, please apply to foster or adopt Dalu:

Please share Dalu’s story. Sometimes one share is all it takes to find the family who was meant to find her. 🙏🏻❤️

🚨💔 WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR THIS LITTLE GIRL 💔🚨

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this sweet 6 year old little girl. 😔

She was surrendered to TLC K9 Rescue because her owner could no longer care for her medical needs. When she came to us, it was immediately obvious that this little girl had been bred over and over again. Her body has clearly been through more than it ever should have.

And now we have another concern… her eyes. 👀💔
They are extremely prominent, and we are worried about what may be going on. She also has breathing difficulties, which is especially concerning in a short-nosed dog like her.

She needs to see our veterinarian as soon as possible so we can figure out what is happening with her eyes and breathing. She also needs to a dental and to be spayed, because her days of being used for breeding are OVER. ❤️

She didn't choose any of this. She didn't choose to be bred repeatedly. She didn't choose to have medical problems. But she is finally with people who are going to fight for her. That's what TLC K9 Rescue does. 🐾❤️

But we can't do this alone.🙏

We are asking our TLC family to please help us get this little girl the medical care she desperately needs. Even $5, $10 or $20 makes a difference when we're facing vet bills, testing, treatment and surgery.

Please consider donating today so we can get her examined and start getting her healthy and comfortable.

Please donate. Please share. Please help us give this little girl the life she should have had all along. ❤️🐾

Omg who cannot love Matt 😍
He's wonderful with people, dogs and even cats if they will have him.

His fosters said..
** He’s better on leash than our dog.
** This dog is very well mannered. Somebody really should snap him up. A lot of rescue dogs are terribly broken and have lots of problems but this guy is absolutely sweet.

Friends meet our beautiful boy Rocky ♥️

Rocky's story is one that will tug at your heartstrings. Before coming into our rescue, he was left to roam the streets on his own. When we found him, he was desperately approaching people and begging for food.
He was hungry, thirsty, and covered in fleas and ticks.
Our hearts broke seeing him in such a neglected condition.😪

The saddest part was that Rocky actually had owners. When we brought him home and attempted to reunite him with them, they simply shrugged us away and said, "You can take him."

While it was heartbreaking to see him so easily discarded, part of me was relieved because I knew this precious boy deserved so much more.

Today, Rocky is an absolute gem.
Just look at how splendid he looks now❣️
I'm in love with this very handsome boy.
He's not only gentle he has such a calm demeanor.

Rocky is a 2 years old, Cocker Spaniel/Papillon Mix.
He loves people, children, and playful doggies just like him. He's great in the car and walks great on leash.
If you're up for an adventure or a Netflix night Rocky would be happy to go with the flow.

Great advice from Emily!!

Great advice from Emily!!

Parents with dogs and little ones:

Remove the dog from the child, not the child from the dog.

One of the most common patterns I see when working dog bite cases and dog/child cases is that the dog has never been taught how to leave.

When the baby crawls over, the toddler approaches, or the child gets too close, many parents instinctively scoop up the child or redirect the child away from the dog.

The problem?

The dog never learns that walking away is an option.

Dogs need to know how to create space when they’re uncomfortable.

If that behavior isn’t practiced routinely, it’s much less likely to happen when they really need it. That’s when you start seeing freezing, hard stares, snarling, snapping, and bites.

I’m not saying this is the only reason bites happen. Not even close.

But dogs should regularly be reinforced and required to move away from children when they’re uncomfortable.

It doesn't have to only be spatial pressure.

Call them away. Reward them for choosing distance. Teach them that leaving is safe and successful.
Then advocate for their space.

Give your children rules and boundaries. Separate when needed. Supervise interactions.

But teach your dog this one simple skill:
When in doubt, walk away.

I have spent my entire life around predators, prey animals, and their offspring. I specialize in dog/infant/child interaction.

This law is immutable.
