The Hermiston Rotary Club is inviting pickleball players of all skill levels to join us for the inaugural Watermelon Slam Pickleball Tournament on June 27. This event will be a major fundraiser for ShelterBox to help support the annual Cascadia disaster response training event in Echo.

We have brackets for all skill levels, from beginners to veterans, and registration includes breakfast and lunch, a tourney T-shirt, and medals for first, second, and third place.

The Rotary Club of Wallowa County is set in a county that celebrates its rich history of ranching and equine culture. Therefore, on Wednesday April 8th, we were happy to hear from Destiny Wecks, Miss Rodeo Oregon, and her friend, Emily Cullins, Miss Rodeo Alaska, who enlightened us about the demanding work of becoming and serving as a Rodeo Queen for an entire state.

At our meeting, Wednesday March 25th, we heard a report back from our very own Peace Fellow, Seth Kinzie, who told us about his recent trip to Malamwi to work with representatives from several African countries to set up a Peace Institute that utilizes indigenous peacemaking practices to resolve conflicts and maintain peaceful relations between persons.
