Hey, Wallowa County! You may have noticed a lot of progress at the new Community Garden & Wellness Park. 🌲💚🍏

Most of the park is in place, and now we are giving the grass a little time to grow and get established.

The new walking path is open, so feel free to come take a walk and check things out. Please stay on the path and out of the newly seeded areas.

The pickleball courts and play area are not quite ready for use yet, but we are getting close!

More information about our ribbon-cutting and grand opening is coming soon!

We have some big news to share 💚

After 16 years with our organization, including more than a decade as CEO, Chantay Jett will be retiring from her role at the end of September.

Chantay has helped guide so much of the work we do in Wallowa County, and we are grateful for the care, leadership, and commitment she has given to our staff, clients, partners, and community.

After retirement, Chantay will continue her work in behavioral health as President of Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, Inc. (GOBHI)

🎨 Stop by the booth at this year's Woodlands & Watersheds Festival and bring the kids for free face painting!

While the kids pick out their designs, parents and caregivers can connect with our team, learn about local programs and resources, and chat about supporting mental wellness at every age.

The 4th Annual Bike Rodeo is coming to Enterprise City Park on June 13!

Hosted by Wallowa County Prevention, Building Healthy Families and the Wallowa Mountains Bicycle Club this free event gives kids and families an opportunity to build bike safety skills, connect with local resources, and enjoy a fun day in the park.

Through the partnership's ongoing bicycle refurbishment project, a limited number of bikes will also be available for local kids.

Know a kiddo needing a bicycle?!?

Over the past few months, Building Healthy Families and the Wallowa Mountains Bicycle Club have been partnering on fixing up gently used bicycles for kids in our community. We now have a good number in storage and hope to disperse free of charge!

We’re excited to share that Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness has received a $12,000 grant award from the Wildhorse Foundation to support the new community garden shed and greenhouse.

These additions will help expand the growing season for the garden while creating more space for community connection and wellness.

Wildhorse Foundation is pleased to announce our Q1 2026 grant awards! 🎉

This quarter, $495,628 was awarded to 35 organizations, made possible through a percentage of gaming revenues from Resort & Casino. The list includes six fire departments and districts in NE Oregon / SE Washington receiving critical equipment and safety upgrades.

We are continually inspired by the dedication of these organizations and the meaningful difference they make in our communities every day.
